ABUS Taipan LED helmet

The Taipan combines the advantages of ABUS road helmets with the demands of the gravel lifestyle. The LED version includes a rechargeable taillight. With this gravel helmet you can ride where the asphalt ends – and the adventure begins.
Product features
Lower edge protection: an outer polycarbonate (PC) shell covers the lower edge of the helmet and protects it from scratches, impacts and signs of wear
Ponytail Fit: thanks to the hole in the height adjustment system, the helmet is also suitable for long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns or braids
Front Eyewear Port: defined recess on the front of the helmet to place glasses in a safe and aerodynamic position while riding
Acti Cage™: allows for larger ventilation openings combined with high stability thanks to foam structural reinforcement
Reflective sticker: for even better visibility in the dark
Forced Air Cooling: the ventilation holes are interconnected by channels on the inside to guide the incoming air through the helmet, ensuring maximum air circulation and a pleasant climate on the head
Rechargeable magnetic taillight: attaches to the back of the helmet with magnets for better visibility - can be charged using the USB-C charging cable
IP44: protection class that confirms protection against solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm and against splashing water for electronic products such as lights
Four different lighting modes (rear light): Steady (constant continuous light), Power (bright light), Pulse (pulsating) and Flash (flashing for bright flashes of light at short intervals) - modes are selectable, corresponding to light and weather conditions
Operating time per mode vh (min.): depending on weather conditions and type of use, the available light usage time is at least 4.3 hours in continuous mode and at least 35 hours in flashing mode
Battery charging time (light): charging time until the battery is fully charged is approximately 1.5 hours
Zoom™ Spin adjustment system: rotating wheel at the back of the head for individual helmet adjustment
Flow Straps™: aerodynamic straps for low air resistance, less noise and high wearing comfort
Floating Pad: padding inside the helmet that snaps on using several attachment points, making it more flexible and offering better ventilation and greater wearing comfort
Removable, washable padding: can be removed and washed by hand or replaced if necessary
Push-in buckle: for safe and practical handling, the straps are equipped with a classic chin strap (three-arm connection) for opening and closing
Aero Blade™ with injected carbon: an additional component to strengthen the structure and improve aerodynamics - thanks to the carbon fiber reinforced material, it is extremely strong and lightweight at the same time
In-mold process: a manufacturing process in which an internal cushioning material made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) is foamed directly into an outer shell of polycarbonate (PC) – creating a durable and robust bond
