B-complex contains eight vitamins of the B group, which are not stored in the human body, so we must ensure a sufficient supply of them every day. Their collective name is B - complex, because the individual vitamins of the B group are usually found together in food. All important tasks in the organism are performed together and their effects complement or strengthen each other. They help in increasing the function of the entire nervous system. When feeling stressed or depressed, they transmit nerve impulses and help nerve cells communicate with each other and function properly.
It is important to take vitamin B as a complex - whole. Their positive action in the organism is mutual. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) – is essential for supplying the cell with energy. It plays an important role in the body by helping to convert the nutrients received in the diet into energy.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) – acts as an antioxidant in the body, thus protecting cells from the influence of unwanted toxins. The first symptom of riboflavin deficiency is the appearance of "corners" on the mouth and we can observe undesirable changes on the skin. Vitamin B2 contributes to maintaining healthy mucous membranes, skin and good vision.
Vitamin B3 (niacin) – is one of the few vitamins that the body can create under certain conditions (if there is a sufficient amount of the amino acid tryptophan in the body). However, sufficient amounts of vitamins B1, B2 and B6 are also necessary for its production. The main function of niacin is to participate in the digestion of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins and the subsequent production of energy.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) – Pantothenic acid contributes to the reduction of exhaustion and fatigue and to healthy mental performance.
Vitamin B6 – contributes to normal mental and nervous activity, to the reduction of stress, fatigue and exhaustion.
Vitamin B7 (biotin) – in the body, it is used in the digestion of lipids, proteins and carbohydrates and is important for energy production. It contributes to maintaining healthy hair, mucous membranes and skin.
Vitamin B9 (folate, folic acid) – contributes to the proper functioning of the psyche and helps reduce fatigue and exhaustion. Vitamin B9 also has a positive effect on the function of the immune system.
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) – affects a wide range of functions in the body. It is important for the proper functioning of the nervous system, psyche, the formation of red blood cells and is also necessary for the conversion of nutrients from food into usable energy.
Vitamin C – contributes to maintaining the proper functioning of the immune system during and after intense physical exertion and acts as an antioxidant in the fight against free radicals
