There are different reactions, I have a positive one. I wax my chain on my road bike, my wife's road bike and even on my children's bike. The main advantage I see is that I don't get dirty on the chain when riding, I also don't get dirty during servicing or when the chain falls off/replaces the inner tube/services in the field. It is a little noisier, but it's just a matter of habit. On average, I wax after about 300-400km, so far the gauge doesn't show any wear (about 1k on the chain).
So here is my procedure: I degrease the chain well before the first use, i.e. in an ultrasound with technical gasoline (approx. 15min), then wash, second ultrasound with yellow Force degreaser (15min), wash, dry with a hair dryer. Then I apply it to each link, let it dry, turn the chain and again on each link. Then I run the chain through a hair dryer to warm up the wax, hang it up and let it dry until the next day. I put the chain on the bike, ride it and before the next application I heat the chain with a hair dryer, wipe off the wax residue from the outside and re-wax one link at a time.
Of course, if more wax is applied, black lumps can form after the first ride, but just blow dry the chain a little, wipe it with a rag and the chain is clean again.

Since black chains irritated me, I experimented with classic waxing (paraffin + teflon) on my bicycles at home, which was a very laborious task: take off the chain, degrease, boil the wax, then clean up all the mess that was created during those activities - even though the result was fine. Now this liquid wax with a mischievous name has arrived ( and my experiences are: the lubricating properties are quite good (although compared to classic oil lubricants, I feel that the friction on the chain is much higher) but I am willing to accept this, because on the other hand the chain does not get dirty. Shifting is easy, the chain works as it should. You also have to count on increased drive noise. Unlike classic waxing, which lasted me about 300 km (after that the chain was already making a lot of noise), with the Squirt I recommend lubricating after 150 km. The advantage is that you don't really need to degrease the chain, you just need to brush it thoroughly.

Used on the road according to the manufacturer's instructions. The chain was first cleaned of the previous lubricant (thrown down and bathed in a cleaning solution), After the chain dried, wax was then applied, which I let dry. The chain was quiet for the first approx. 30 km, then the chain could be heard (nothing tragic). Black wax balls began to form on the chain, which fell onto the rear structure and formed a coating on the chainring and derailleur wheels. However, this was not the fault of the lubricant, but of incomplete cleaning of the chain. I cleaned the chain again and this time I made a point of it. Since then I have been lubricating it, approx. every 120 - 150 km. the chain just needs to be wiped with a cloth, re-lubricated and let the wax dry (I let it dry from evening to morning). The drive is clean without dust and black mess. How the lubricant affects the chain's lifespan will be shown later.

Second pack already. I can't compare the quality of lubrication through passive resistances and the like, but wax has its advantages over oils. After drying, it doesn't stick to dirt, the chain stays relatively clean, especially the cassettes and pulleys don't get clogged with greasy mess. It lasts quite a long time, even months in the summer, less in the winter. It depends on how often the bike is washed, a good spray of the chain will wash it out quickly. If the chain isn't washed very often, it will lubricate for a long time. The disadvantage compared to oils is also the anti-corrosion protection. A greasy chain is protected as such, wax does not protect it at all. If a waxed chain is exposed to water for a long time, it will rust. I use it successfully mainly in the summer and especially on less frequently ridden bikes, the chain is almost maintenance-free. In the winter and when it's already very wet and muddy and needs to be cleaned often, I switch to oils.

Používam a objednávam opakovane. Za mňa dobré mazivo. Síce treba častejšie premazávať ako pri použití olejov, ale za to nelepí špinu a reťaz tak vydrží dlhšie čistá. Keďže je to mazivo s prímesou vosku, v chladnejších podmienkach zvykne mierne stuhnúť čo môže mať za následok ťažšiu aplikáciu, preto je dobré toto mazivo skladovať pri izbovej teplote a pred použitím dobre pretrepať. Po aplikácii je dobré chvíľu počkať aby "zatieklo" do čapov reťaze a potom poutierať handrou prebytočné zvyšky. Dá sa tomu pomôcť teplovzdušnou pištoľou . Existuje ale tiež verzia tohto maziva do chladných podmienok, ktoré až tak netuhne pri nižších teplotách - to používam od jesene do skorej jari.

I am very satisfied with this antifreeze. At first I used dry oil lubricants but I will not go back to that, it stuck dirt to itself, the entire drive was dusty and I had to laboriously clean and degrease the chain in a chain washer and buy more cleaners. With this antifreeze, I only need a rag or brush and I can apply it again, the entire drive is not dirty and the application is excellent. Although the noise and durability are a little worse than with oil, I don't mind that at all due to the already mentioned easy cleaning and application of this lubricant. So I definitely recommend trying it to those people who mind a dirty entire drive and not exactly quick and easy cleaning with dry oil lubricants.

Pre mna mile prekvapenie. Kupil som ako prvy pokus o prechod z olejovanej na voskovanu retaz. Chcel som sa vsak vyhnut pre mna komplikovanemu sposobu voskovania v roztopenom vosku. Retaz som dokladne ocistil a ususil. Nasledne som naniesol vrstvu voskovej emulzie postupne na vsetky clanky retaze. cez noc som nechal odparit tekutu zlozku maziva a rano som mohol jazdzit. Chod retaze je vyrazne tichsi. Retaz sa nespini tak ako pri pouziti maziva na bazi oleja. Radenie nie je ovplyvnene vrstvou vosku ktora je tuhsia ako olej. Pouzivam na cesnom bicykli aj pocas zimnych mesiacov a som zatial spokojny.

Super mazivo, predtým som používal muc-off c3, a toto je neporovnateľne lepšie. Výdrž síce priemerná, ale čistenie pohonu a rámu okolo pohonu kleslo tak o 90% oproti klasickému mazivu. Jednu zaujímavosť, ktorú som postrehol, špecificky pri shimano 12s kazete, je postupné usádzanie zvyškov maziva medzi prvým a druhým prevodom. Ak to priebežne nevyčistím, reťaz začne na najťažšom prevode preskakovať a nezaberá. Ale to je skôr kuriozita ako problém - len tie 2 prevody majú medzi sebou hladkú plochu bez odvodových kanálov.

Do teraz som mazal len olejom a teraz ľutujem, že som nevoskoval hneď od začiatku. S výmenou reťaze som si povedal, že skúsim vosk. Už po pár kilometroch môžem povedať, že reťaz chytá omnoho menej humusu ako pri oleji (neporovnateľne menej). Aplikácia je tiež jednoduchšia. Riedkym olejom som vždy trochu polial rám alebo koleso. Teraz len pekne olej nakvapkám priamo na jednotlivé články a je hotovo. Pri prvej aplikácií na novú reťaz som mu trošku pomohol fénom nech sa pekne vpije.

I put a total of 8 on each bike I'm in charge of, 4x road bikes and 4x MTBs, they last a long time when wet without any problems. In case of dust, a bit of a mess forms when it's hot, when the wax melts and collects dust, but I had a problem with this every time I lubricated in such conditions, so I don't see it as a problem and basically just scrapes off the excess wax that binds dust and then it's in ideal condition when the chain is still lubricated but no longer binds dust.

Vynikajúce. Reťaz je v podstate čistá, má hladký a tichý chod, dlhšie vydrží a nešpinia sa tým ani ostatné diely pohonu. Pri potrebe opätovného mazania(u mňa cca 200 km, ale záleží kadiaľ sa jazdí) stačí reťaz utrieť handrou, alebo prebehnúť nasucho v čističke a môže sa mazať. Len treba dodržať to, že maže sa min. 24h pred ďalším výjazdom až má vosk čas zatiecť a uschnúť. A cez zimu toto celé robiť vo vykurovanej miestnosti.

I have been using it for 5 years, very satisfied with the cleanliness and durability of the chain. For better flow into the links, diluted with water (about 1/3). I apply it after every ride and I don't care if it was 40 or 130 km.
The last package came in an opaque bottle, I now understand why, they probably changed the composition, after pouring it into a transparent bottle and letting it stand, I see the water separating at the bottom of the container. This has never happened before (4 years).

Predtým som používal olej od Kellys, Weldtite Extreme a ešte taký klasický olej. Rozdiel je naozaj poznať. Prekvapuje ma, že reťaz je stále čistá a mazivo stále drží. Jazdím v prachu, blate, v daždi. Predtým som pred každým nanášaním oleja reťaz riadne vyčistil a odmastil, teraz to skúšam len rovno namazať po cca 120km. Zdá sa, že to funguje. Netuším, či to má vplyv na životnosť reťaze, testujem to zatiaľ druhý mesiac.

As someone used to oil, I feel like the chain is still dry. But the chain life seems to be better and as a bonus, when I touch the chain while attaching the bike to the rack, I no longer have to worry about my hands getting dirty from the oil...
I just find the consistency thick, so that the wax can more easily penetrate the inside of the link. So I always dilute 5 parts wax: 2 parts water in a syringe. And after about 100km, I "spiked" the chain pins.

To glue it, just enough so that a stiff bristle brush or rag will do the trick; or gasoline will dissolve the wax.

Používam už 3roky. Reťaz čístím po cca 200-300km, inak iba prevoskujem. Kazetu čistím veľmi výnimočne. Neporovnateľné s olejmi. Vosk vydrží aj dlhšie výjazdy 150km a viac. Reťaz je síce trošku hlučnejšia, ale to mne vôbec nevadí. Mám pocit, že aj predlžuje životnosť reťaze - 3000km, ale to je iba môj subjektívny pocit... Za mňa odporúčam, balenie vydrží veľmi dlho

Najviac mi vadila spinava retaz a prevody od olejovych maziv a tym aj jej zvysene opotrebenie. Teraz je vsetko ciste aj po jazde v prasnom prostredi a retaz po 1800 km je menej opotrebena ako predosla, ktora vydrzala 1200 km. Jedina nevyhoda je trochu zvysena hlucnost pohonu a vyssia cena, ale ak aj retaz vydrzi dlhsie, vyhody vyrazne prevysuju nevyhody.

For me, the best oil I've had so far, even better than Cyclon wax lube, because it doesn't contain PTFE, so it doesn't blacken the chain as much. It doesn't stain the chain and lasts on gravel for 100-150km. You have to apply it in the evening so the wax dries and then wipe off the rest. The cassette and chain stay clean, just wipe the chain with a cloth from time to time (even the derailleur wheels), and then lubricate.

Uz asi neprejdem naspat k oleju. Najdu sa tu kriticke komentare, ze z tohto maziva maju zalepeny cely bike. Treba pozriet par navodov. Vo vsetkych sa hovori o vycisteni prevodov, koliesok na prehadzovacke a poutierani retaze. Osvedcilo sa mi prehodit pred mazanim na velky prevodnik. Lahsie sa poutiera. Vzadu na najmensi. Lahsie pristupny na cistenie.
