For safety, be sure to read this "user's manual" thoroughly before use, follow it for correct use, and save it for future reference.
The following directions must be always followed in order to prevent personal injuries, physical damages to equipment or surroundings. The directions are classified according to the degree of danger or damage which may occur if the product is used incorrectly.
DANGER - Failure to follow the directions will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING - Failure to follow the directions could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION - Failure to follow the directions could cause personal injury or physical damage to equipment or surroundings.
WARNING
- This wheel is equipped with a quick release hub for easy installation and removal. Failure to properly install this quick release hub (wheel) to the bicycle can cause the wheel to come off of the bicycle while riding, resulting in serious personal injury.
- Use a front fork equipped with a wheel retention mechanism.
- BEFORE USE, BE SURE TO THOROUGHLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE QUICK RELEASE HUB IN THE SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS. If there are any questions, ask your dealer. INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE HUB MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
- Before riding the bicycle, check that the wheels are securely fastened. If the quick release lever is not used properly, the wheel may come off and so on, and a serious accident could result due to falling.
- If the quick release mechanism is not used correctly, the wheel may come off the bicycle and a serious injury could result. Read the service instructions for the quick release mechanism carefully before use.
- If the quick release lever is on the same side as the disc brake rotor, there is a danger that it may interfere with the disc brake rotor. Check that even after tightening the quick release lever by hand with all your strength, the quick release lever does not interfere with the disc brake rotor. If the lever interferes with the disc brake rotor, stop using the wheel and consult your dealer or agent.
CAUTION
Only tighten and loosen the quick release lever by hand. Never use any tools such as hammers to tighten the quick release lever, as this may cause damage.
Note
- Do not apply any oil to the inside of the hub. If you do, the grease will come out.
- Use a neutral detergent to clean the hubs. Using other detergents may damage the hubs. Do not clean any areas which are instructed not to be cleaned.
- Do not clean hub areas with a high-pressure washer. Water may enter the hubs, which may reduce their performance.
- Warranty on the products is not covered in case of natural wear and tear due to standard use and aging.
- For maximum performance we highly recommend SHIMANO lubricants and maintenance products.
