NOTICE
For assistance with installation, adjustment, and replacement of products not found in the user manual, please consult the place of purchase or a distributor. A dealer's manual intended for professional and experienced bicycle mechanics is available on our website (https://si.shimano.com).
For safety, be sure to read this "user manual" thoroughly before use, follow it for correct use, and save it so that you can refer back to it at any time.
The following instructions should always be followed in order to prevent personal injury, damage to equipment or damage to the surrounding area. Instructions are classified according to the degree of danger or damage which may occur if the product is used incorrectly.
DANGER - Failure to follow the instructions will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING - Failure to follow the instructions could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION - Failure to follow the instructions could result in personal injury, or physical damage to equipment and surroundings.
WARNING
- This wheel is equipped with a quick release hub for easy installation and removal. Failure to properly install this quick release hub (wheel) to the bicycle can cause the wheel to disengage from the bicycle while riding, resulting in serious personal injury.
- Use a front fork equipped with a wheel retention mechanism.
- BE SURE TO THOROUGHLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE QUICK RELEASE HUB IN THE USER'S MANUAL BEFORE USE. If there are any questions, ask your dealer. INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE HUB MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
- Before riding the bicycle, check that the wheels are securely fastened. If the quick release lever is not used properly, the wheel may come off and so on, and serious injury may result from falling.
- If the quick release mechanism is not used correctly, the wheel may come off the bicycle and serious injury may result. Read the service instructions for the quick release mechanism carefully before use.
CAUTION
Only tighten and loosen the quick release lever by hand. Never use any tools such as hammers to tighten the quick release lever, as this may cause damage.
Never tighten the wheel to the frame by turning the quick release lever as shown in the illustration on the right. Simply turning the lever in a circular motion will not tighten the wheel to the frame. Disengagement of the wheel due to incorrect hub installation may result in serious personal injury.
