ZIPP Upgrade ceramic bearing set (2 ceramic bearings included) - 61903 - compatible with ZR1/ZM2 hubs, Cognition rear, Cognition/76 front for disc brakes, 176 all rear hubs

Two pieces of bearings 61903 for hub body, front or rear.

The Zipp Hub Ceramic Bearing Upgrade Kit uses the highest quality materials and precision machining to achieve the highest speed. The bearings are manufactured in Germany by a supplier specializing in medical equipment to Zipp's exact specifications. Bearing sets are manufactured and assembled in one place to achieve exact tolerances. The bearing rings are made of hardened aluminum superalloy with the addition of a chromium-molybdenum-nickel component, which is the highest grade of stainless steel available. Zipp testing has shown that this material is resistant to corrosion, even in salt water.

The combination of material and ceramic balls (Si3N4) designed by Zipp is reflected in the considerable resistance of the bearings. The high resistance and long service life of the bearings allow the use of non-contact sealing for ceramic bearings. The result is a set of bearings that significantly reduces friction and breakaway torque for the hub body and cartridge carrier (nut). The cages inside the bearings are made of polyamide instead of steel. Polyamide has vibration-damping properties to isolate the balls, resulting in improved functionality and durability. The Zipp Ceramic Bearing Upgrade Kit is the perfect upgrade for Zipp wheels and hubs.

To upgrade a complete set of wheels, 3 sets of bearings (6 pieces of bearings) are required: two sets (4 pieces) of 61903 bearings for the front and rear hub body, and one set (2 bearings) of 61803 bearings for the nut. Alternatively, it is possible to install only two sets of 61903 bearings for the hub bodies and get most of the benefits.

COMPATIBILITY
Zipp ceramic bearing kits are compatible with all current Zipp hub models, both rim and disc brake versions: Cognition, ZR1, ZM2, 76/176, and previous generation 77/177. These kits are not compatible with the first version of Cognition hubs for rim brakes.
