ORTOVOX uses only the finest Merino wool from Tasmania for all its underwear. Merino wool is a material that degrades negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years. The length of all fibers used is at least 6 cm, which is not standard in the production of wool underwear. The longer the fibers, the stronger the yarns that can be obtained. This prevents holes from forming when the material wears out. The quality of the fibers is determined primarily by their length, fineness, and the uniform diameter of individual fibers.80% Merino wool with a fineness of 16.5 microns guarantees first-class quality and the perfect functional properties we need so much for sports – quick drying, odor elimination, good thermal insulation properties even when damp.
ORTOVOX also has demanding criteria for sheep farming itself, which significantly influences the quality of their wool. To meet these, ORTOVOX buys wool only from a few selected farms that are subject to regular inspection. ORTOVOX checks 64 different quality criteria that each farm must meet. Thanks to this, the wool used in ORTOVOX underwear is only of the highest quality.
Advantages of Merino wool: very comfortable, neutralizes odor (has an antibacterial effect), has a wide thermoregulatory range, absorbs moisture into its internal structure and remains dry on the surface, easy to care for, pleasant to the touch, has a long lifespan.
