Inside the mat is a system of vertical chambers, which are filled with Polarloft ® insulating material , which is attached (laminated) to prevent unwanted movement of the insulation inside the mat. The Polarloft ® material thus remains in place and prevents unwanted air circulation, which would cause unwanted cooling of the body. The air therefore does not circulate and thus provides high insulation while maintaining low weight and great packability.
PolarLoft ® for cold and humid environments
The synthetic thermal insulation material Polarloft ® is suitable for cold and permanently humid conditions. It doesn't mind being wet, it dries quickly. This material offers an excellent thermal insulation to weight ratio with an exceptionally small volume. It is made of fibers of different diameters, where, as with feathers, thicker fibers serve to maintain loft and thinner ones prevent unwanted air circulation. You can use the mattress wherever long-term exposure to moisture is your enemy.Unique filling valve
A reliable filling valve, when using a one-way attachment, allows comfortable inflation of the mat. When it is removed, the mat will be quickly and completely deflated, so it can be packed quickly and easily. There is also a protective flap for security, which prevents unwanted opening and air leakage. Thanks to the patented Windsock system, you fill the Aerostat mat comfortably and quickly, you just need to blow into the bag at a distance of 20 cm, which you attach to the filling cap, close and then roll to get the air into the mat. During filling, the air does not escape from the mat thanks to the one-way valve extension.By repeating this procedure for several inflations of the bag, you will fill the mat to the desired hardness. Therefore, it is not necessary to inflate the mat with your mouth, which could be time-consuming and tiring, in addition, moisture would get inside, which could freeze on the inner walls and thus cause an unpleasant cooling effect, which would reduce the comfort during sleep. The filling bag is an integral part of the mat bag, so you will never forget it at home.
Durable 30D ripstop fabric
The mat is made of Ripstop material with a strength of 30 denier, which is compressible, resistant to abrasion and, thanks to the protective TPU lamination, does not absorb moisture. It maintains a high level of packability so that the mat does not take up too much space in the backpack.All mats are tested by the new ASTM F3340 standard. In addition, Mountain Equipment mentions a " Good Night Sleep Guaranteed " value, which in this case is -25°C. This value was measured using real-world conditions and takes into account factors such as wind and humidity.
