The fastest road bike approved by the International Cycling Union in its most affordable version. The Cannondale SystemSix Carbon Ultegra will offer the technology of higher-end models at a price that remains accessible to a much wider range of cyclists. A systems approach that looks at a road bike not only as a frame and fork, but also takes into account a number of other components, has given birth to a top racing machine that has no equal rivals on the market today. The results from the wind tunnel are a clear proof of this. Thanks to the very low air resistance, you will be faster than anyone else in the saddle of this bike.
It's not just the fastest in the wind tunnel, or for a select few riders in predetermined scenarios. SystemSix is the fastest for everyone. Anytime and anywhere. Call it drag reduction or aerodynamic advantage. We call it free speed, which is the culmination of many years of a systems approach to real-world driving efficiency. Proving what can be achieved when the entire bike - not just the frame and fork - is optimized for speed. Real speed with real riders, that's our motto!
The speed of the six-part system
The new SystemSix is a true example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. She, the importance, is the result of a fully integrated system approach to bicycle construction. Six points that work together as one integrated system. Frame, fork, seat post, handlebars, stem and braided wheels. A holistic approach to minimizing aerodynamic drag that harnesses every single watt of your performance. An aero frame and fork alone can never achieve the results we have achieved. Simply put, the SystemSix delivers more speed in situations than any other bike on the market.
Faster on climbs
On all grades up to 6% or more depending on rider weight and performance, the SystemSix is faster than a lightweight hill bike such as the gold standard SuperSix Evo due to its aerodynamic advantage. Just to clarify, most hard climbs on the Tour average 7-8%.
Faster downhill
At a 5% descent and a speed of 60 km/h, a rider on a modern racing bike, such as the aforementioned SuperSix Evo, will need over 300 watts to keep up with a rider on a SystemSix bike. The latter needs a whole 100 watts less to achieve the same speed. This means you can regenerate in peace on the SystemSix bike while your opponents suffer in silence.
Faster on the flat
At a speed of 48 km/h, SystemSix saves you up to 50 watts of power compared to a light racing bike. Given that the functional threshold power of a trained competitor is around 350 watts, these numbers are really extraordinary. Unless you're one of those who watch every watt, trust me that's more than enough to notice.
Faster in a sprint
In a 200m sprint at 60km/h, a SystemSix rider finishes 4 bike lengths ahead of a lightweight racing machine such as a SuperSix Evo. There is really no need for target cameras.
Faster every day
Even at a leisurely pace in the group, typically around 30 km/h, the SystemSix needs 10% less expended energy than a lightweight racing bike like the SuperSix Evo. Thanks to this, you will have more strength left for the time when you have to really step into it.
System approach
To say that SystemSix represents a unique approach to solving aerodynamic drag would be too simple. Our approach to speed represents the pinnacle of what can be achieved in road bike engineering. The entire SystemSix project began with an effort to design the fastest braided wheels for the wide road tires that are so popular today. From there we continued through the development of the frame, fork, seat post, handlebar and stem so that together they create one single perfect system. Thanks to the disc brakes, we could let our imaginations run wild. We tuned the profiles of the frame tubes so that they have optimal aerodynamic properties in each of their places. We designed a unique combo handlebar and stem with low air resistance without compromising comfort.
Basics of speeds
The most important part of a SystemSix road bike is its frame together with the fork. The shape of the frame tubes has been designed to remain maximally immune to flowing air. Purposeful asymmetry helps with immediate pedaling and braking response. The finely tuned geometry derived from the SuperSix EVO road machine takes care of balanced steering and a perfect driving feeling. Of course, there are dozens, if not hundreds, of refined details designed to make you even faster.
Aerodynamic profiles
The basis of the frame set are carbon tubes with a refined aero profile. Everything is designed from the beginning to ensure minimal air resistance, preferably in all the main directions of wind action.
Unique shape of the head part
The unique shape of the head tube heel helps direct airflow from the rear of the fork downwards. It thus prevents mixing of currents from the fork with currents arising behind the head tube of the frame.
Smooth fork shape
Freed from the constraints of rim brakes, the crown area of the fork is radically different from traditional road wheels. Its shape is smooth for maximum integration with the frame and achieving the least possible air resistance. Thanks to this, there was also more space for wide tires and unhindered air flow even at the highest speeds. Asymmetric leg shape for good control when braking.
