Top mountain bike with F-Si Ballistec Carbon carbon frame, brand new Lefty Ocho suspension fork, 29 "twisted wheels and Sram NX Eagle 12s set.
The Cannondale F-SI Carbon 4 is currently one of the best and also the fastest racing hardtails on the market. The bike manufacturer has tuned to the last detail with an emphasis on the best possible function of the unit. For Cannondale, a mountain bike is not just a set of interconnected components, but a sophisticated system that must work in harmony so that you can achieve the best performance behind the wheel not only on the racetrack.
The FSI Ballistec Carbon carbon frame is incredibly stiff and at the same time very light, and in conjunction with the brand new Lefty Ocho front fork, it can handle much more in the field than you would expect from a Hardtail in this category. Thanks to the geometry with a short construction, a more placed head angle and a large extension of the fork axis, something just won't stop you on the race tracks. The frame, together with the fork, is mounted on rigid 29 "wheels with wide rims; the Sram NX Eagle components with 1x12 speeds ensure precise shifting.
Frame
The F-SI Ballistec Carbon carbon frame is made of light and at the same time very strong carbon fibers, which allow you to fine-tune the overall driving characteristics even to the smallest details. Compared to its predecessor, it is as much as 80 grams and with a total weight of 900 grams, it is the lightest frame that Cannondale has ever produced. Extreme rigidity while maintaining only very low weight and maximum driving comfort, that's what this is all about!
The key point of the whole frame is the rear structure with the so-called asymmetrical drive integration. Thanks to the shift of the powertrain by six millimeters to the right, the rear structure was significantly shortened and thus the controllability of the bicycle in the field and beyond was significantly improved. At the same time, this solution made it possible to maintain sufficient throughput for the use of wide tires even in sets with 2 transducers. The shift of the drive made it possible to create a more even rear string for even more stiffness in the sprint and in corners.
Sufficient comfort is guaranteed by the sophisticated Save Micro Suspension system, which uses directionally optimized carbon fiber knitting. The seat tube and with it the entire rear frame triangle work in the vertical direction and thus effectively dampen vibrations and other small shocks. The result is not only better traction and higher speed, but above all a noticeable reduction in driver fatigue, even on really long distances.
A new feature is the fixed Speed Release axle for faster and easier rear wheel replacement. The special shape of the heels allows you to leave the axle in the hub and remove the wheel as easily as in the case of the classic quick release. The Speed Release axis is compatible with 148x12 millimeter standard cartridges.
Fork
The frame is complemented by the all-new Cannondale Lefty Ocho front fork, which excels in its rigidity, low weight and precise driving performance in all circumstances. All this while maintaining uncompromising steering precision, which is unparalleled in the crosscountry fork category. With a stroke of 100 mm and the possibility of remote locking, it will be great not only on racing circuits, but also on your favorite trails or anywhere else. The significant overhang of the fork axis, together with the more pronounced head angle, creates the so-called OutFront geometry, which provides sufficient stability on the slopes and which does not lose any of its famous agility on the slopes.
Geometry
The geometry of the new F-SI is defined by a very short rear structure, a significantly projecting front fork axis and, last but not least, a more inclined head angle. Such geometry will provide enough stability even on the most demanding descents, it will surprise you in all respects with perfect traction, and at the same time it will not lack the playfulness and agility that enchants a smile on the lips in the field. Extending the reach and stack values contributes to greater comfort behind the handlebars.
Equipment
The 12-speed Sram NX Eagle set with a cassette with a range of 10-50 teeth ensures fast and, above all, precise gear changes. Truvativ Stylo cranks with one gearbox and 34 teeth also come from the Sram Group's offer. Shimano MT500 hydraulic disc brakes with 160 mm diameter discs on the front and rear wheels manage the braking force. 29 "entwined wheels built on aluminum rims with an inner width of 23 millimeters complement the Schwalbe fast tires with a width of 2.25". The controls are aided by wide Cannondale handlebars, comfort is guaranteed by the Fabric Scoop saddle with steel rails.
