Waxing? Why did I bother with lubricants for years? Or cleaning the chain later, or, I completely gave up on it. After 5000km of lubrication on the road, I switched to waxing. I have already done 3000km with wax, I wax every 200-300km, or depending on the noise of the chain. Wax certainly doesn't break records in durability, but dirt is minimal and nothing is dirty around. On short rides it lasts as if longer, but when I go on a 200-300km climb, I clean and wax the chain after the ride. Moreover, I enjoy it very much. However, I recommend using at least a Russian when handling the wax, so avoid fumes when melting and handling.

I use it on 4 bikes. It lasts extra long on the road, and on the MTB it lasts about a week (about 200km) with daily riding in all conditions.

My wife only rides it to school, the store, and occasionally to the forest, as does my daughter on a small children's bike. I only wax it about once every two months, depending on where we ride.

But the biggest advantage is the fact that I never have a dirty chain again, the derailleur pulleys are not dirty, the cassette is clean... this is really great!

I was a little surprised how stiff the chain is after waxing. But after a few revolutions she moved beautifully. Now, after about 200 km, the chain, the cassette and the converters are still clean. Although the wax makes them look dirty, but when I run my hand over the chain, everything is perfectly clean except for the few flakes of wax. It feels like the chain is well lubricated. The gears shift easily and I don't even think the chain is any louder. For me, max. satisfaction.

I've only had it for a short time, but according to tests on zerofrictioncycling.com.au, it should be the best. I use half of the wax in a 500ml can in an 11:1 ratio. I didn't like the dirt and grime anymore. Wax removes 97% of this and if there is anything, just rub it with a cloth or pour warm water over it and that's it. ps And there's not that much work involved in waxing, I should have switched to wax sooner.
