Castelli ULTRA RAIN CAPE Jacket
Note: The zipper is sewn asymmetrically (not in the middle of the jacket, but slightly to the side). This jacket is designed as an outer rain jacket, with the possibility to be worn over other jackets, especially those with zero water resistance, like Perfetto AIR and Diciotto. If the zipper were sewn straight, it would cause friction between the jacket's zipper and the base layer. It would also be a problem at the neck and under the chin - two sliders on top of each other, two collars with zippers, that's a guarantee of discomfort and various chafing. So, Castelli solved this with an asymmetrical zipper.
Waterproof, packable jacket made from a two-layer stretch fabric Polartec® Weather Protection. Designed as an addition to Ristretto technology jackets, but can also be worn over a jersey without flapping in the wind and can be packed into a pocket.
Regardless of the season or where you live, it's always good to have a backup and be prepared in case the weather turns bad. Developed within the Ristretto technology, the Ultra Rain Cape jacket will bring peace of mind. Unlike most rain jackets, the two-layer stretch and adaptable fabric used in this jacket - Weather Protection Polartec® - resists rain, yet can be packed into a small pouch. The adaptable fabric is stretchy enough so the jacket can be worn over a jersey without flapping in the wind, and when it gets colder, you can easily put it on over Perfetto Air or Espresso Air jackets, so with this jacket in your pocket, you can be at ease all year round.
