The Fritschi Tecton 13 binding is intended for freeriders who demand uncompromising driving characteristics, high safety and low weight for off-piste virgin powder. Fritschi Tecton 13 is the first freeride spike binding with a safety tip and the stiffest downhill heel on the market . For all those who are looking for a binding for the slopes and pedaling, but do not want to compromise on factors such as safety or stiffness of the binding and driving characteristics.
It turns off reliably and with Swiss precision only at the moment of a fall, not when the terrain is uneven (the toe and heel of the binding can absorb shocks thanks to dynamic elasticity).
It switches off purposefully even in walking mode - when covered by an avalanche, loss of balance during ascent or falling during short descents on tracks.
Rigid downhill heel for perfect transmission of forces from the legs to the skis - perfect downhill properties.
The sliding heel adapts to the bending of the ski, so you can use its full potential.
Possibility to switch from walking mode to downhill mode without untying the shoes.Controlling tying with a mallet or in a simple curl is a bonus that will make the whole day's hike more pleasant .
The binding is reinforced with metal elements on the toe and heel for even greater durability .
The binding heel is adjustable up to 25 mm
The downhill bindings are proven and their heel construction is unsurpassed, and the Fritschi Tecton 13 is based on them. Its rigid non-rotating heelwithout a joint has no backlash and enables the direct transfer of forcesfrom the ski bootto the edge of the ski. Thus, better controllability and driving safety are achieved. Furthermore, a better transmission of forces is also achieved by means of:
the spoon is pressed by the heel jaw over a large area
The heel grooves fit into the inserts on the shoe, increasing the lateral stiffness of the binding.
I lean my ski boot against the heel pad.
large screw spacing
by attaching the heel directly to the ski
large and wide contact area under the toe and heel
The heel of the binding is loaded with 4x more force than the toe when riding, and that is why the Tecton 13 has a sensitive toe and a stiff (downhill) heel. Thanks to the precise transfer of the load to the edge of the ski , you will fully enjoy your ride. The spoon does not move even a millimeter in the heelthanks to the Power Rail grooves, which protrude from the heel and fit exactly into the grooves in the ski boot intended for the rear binding tips. In this way , the spoon is fixed in the vertical and horizontal direction and your every movement is transferred from the ski boot to the ski without loss of energy. Thanks to this, you will be able to control the skis perfectly and have the much-needed confidence when driving. This will be appreciated not only by every good rider, but also by a beginner who is still getting used to free terrain. The active sliding heeladapts to the ski boot by up to 10 mm when the ski bends during the ride and enables smooth bending of the ski along its entire length, which is a necessary feature of the binding for perfect skiing. A binding that does not have an active heel will prevent the ski from bending, stiffening the middle, and the ski will bend only before and behind the binding, which significantly worsens its driving characteristics. Fritschi has eliminated this problem, which is why the Tecton 13 binding is also great for all-day resort skiing. The Fritschi Tecton 13 ski mountaineering binding is based on the design of a downhill binding, where the toe switches off to the sides according to the DIN switch-off force setting . Thanks to this, it shuts off precisely under rotational forces and does not cause torsional fractures. Health and safety is the main principle that the Swiss manufacturer Fritschi deals with in the development of its products. Safety is more important than weight. With classic spike bindings, it is easy to accidentally switch off during a descent, which can have fatal consequences on steep descents. The construction solution of the toe and foot of the Tecton 13 binding has a dynamic elasticity of 13 mm or 9 mm, which in other words can be imagined as clearance to absorb the forces arising from driving over bumps or sudden impacts. Even when driving vigorously on hard or heavy snow , there is no unwanted shutdown.
The Fritschi Tecton 13 doesn't shut off too soon, but only after overcoming 13 mm of lateral travel at the toe and 9 mm up at the heel.
This path is sufficient to consume energy so that the binding does not switch off unintentionally after a short-term exceedance of the set tripping force DIN - in the event of a jump or bumping into an unevenness.
The binding switches to the side even with the toe set for walking - an important feature when buried in an avalanche, losing balance during ascent or falling on short descents on tracks.
The dynamic elasticity of the Fritschi Tecton 13 binding is the same as the downhill binding that the Fritschi company has been producing for over 30 years and today uses this know-how in the development of skialp bindings. The weight of the equipment is also important, which is why the Fritschi Tecton 13 binding is made of carbon and fiberglass, now complemented by proven modern polymers. From design to production, everything takes place in Switzerland. Polymers reinforced with carbon and fiberglass are lighter than metal parts and at the same time have higher strength and durability. Although light weight is very important, the Fritschi brand always prioritizes safety and reliability. The new generation Fritschi Tecton 13 has an innovative designed tip that you can "kick"evenblindly because it has:
bottom stops
side stops
ski boot tip stop
sensitive trigger
Thanks to this, when turning on the tip ofthe ski boot, it is precisely guided into the correct position - it is located between the spikes and a sensitive trigger, and even with a little pressure, it releases the spikes, which fit exactly into the inserts in the ski boot.
Comfortable control with a malletor with bent knees - you can comfortably switch the binding to the rising position and adjust the heel with the mallet. To switch to downhill, the binding of the Fritschi Tecton 13 can be controlled with just the wand without the need to bend over to bind.
Switching from downhill to ascent without turning off the spoon - you can comfortably switch from downhill to walking with the Tecton 12 binding by lifting the heel, when the entire heel is subsequently pushed back. You will appreciate this during ridge hikes or short passages of descent during the ascent, when it is safer to turn your heel into the downhill position on the belts.
It does not freeze - the Fritsichi Tecton 13 ski binding is designed so that snow does not get into it, which could compress and turn into ice. Therefore, the binding works reliably in any snow and temperature.
Adjustable binding dimensions – The heel of the binding is adjustable up to 25 mm (60 mm when using a rental mat). The binding is not compatible with "noseless" spoons TLT 7, TLT 8, DNA, PDG, Arcteryx Procline, and all that have a shank shorter than 6 mm, such as Atomic Backland (an extension is required here).
Re-drilling for any ski - Fritschi Tecton 13 has easily replaceable brakes (80/90/100/110/120 mm) and thanks to this, it is possible to re-drill the bindings for any other ski.
Harshajzny - the binding is compatible with Harshajznym and there is no need to switch off the binding when putting them on. The binding is also adapted to use a safety line.
