Fenix HL45R rechargeable headlamp, 1000 lm, black
Fenix HL45R Rechargeable Headlamp
The zoomable rechargeable headlamp Fenix HL45R offers a luminous flux of up to 1000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 220 meters, along with a hands-free on/off function. The Gesture-sensing function allows you to turn the light on and off by waving your hand in front of the headlamp (the function can be deactivated). You can have your hands covered in mud, oil, or anything else while working, and the light will remain clean.Power is supplied by a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 1900 mAh, which is charged via a USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. The battery can be removed and, in an emergency, replaced with three standard AAA batteries (these cannot be charged in the headlamp). The light source is a modern Luminus SFT-25R LED, and its light is directed by a special TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optic with the ability to adjust the beam width (zoom function). Additionally, it features an OSRAM GR QSSPA1.23 red LED, which achieves an output of up to 130 lumens.
There are a total of 8 output modes, including a red strobe mode for emergency situations. Despite the adjustable optics, the headlamp maintains IP66 waterproof rating, so it can withstand heavy rain without problems. The headlamp strap is equipped with reflective elements, ensuring good all-around visibility when moving on the road. Thanks to its features, the Fenix HL45R headlamp is suitable for professional use, hiking, search and rescue operations, as well as for running, camping, fishing, and other activities.
Usage
From the factory, there might be an insulating cap on the battery. Remove it before the first use.Turning on, off, and switching modes - if the rotary switch is in the locked position, the headlamp turns on by rotating the switch. In the second position, it turns on to white light mode; rotating to the third position turns it on to red light mode. Output modes in individual positions are cycled by pressing the button located on the side of the rotary switch. Holding the button for 0.5 seconds turns the headlamp off. If the headlamp is unlocked and turned off by the side button, it will turn on again by holding the side button for 0.5 seconds.
Gesture control - when the headlamp is on and the gesture sensing function is active, wave your hand within the sensing range in front of the headlamp to temporarily turn it off, and wave again to turn it back on. *When the headlamp is on and the gesture sensing function is active, holding the side electronic switch for 0.5 seconds will turn off the lamp. After this action, it will not respond to any motion operation.
Turning gesture sensing on and off - to turn the function on, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds; the headlamp will flash red twice, indicating the function is enabled. To turn it off, press and hold the side switch again for 6 seconds; the headlamp will flash red eight times, indicating the function is deactivated.
Note on gesture sensing:
- The sensing range is approximately 10 cm in front of the headlamp and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the sensed object, ambient light, the brightness of the selected output, and the speed of the wave.
- If other objects are within the sensing range in front of the headlamp, the lamp may also turn on or off.
- The gesture sensing function only controls turning the light on and off; it does not change modes.
- When the gesture sensing function is active, waving your hand only temporarily turns off the light. At this point, the headlamp is in standby mode with low power consumption. If no activity occurs for more than two hours, the headlamp will automatically turn off from standby mode, and then it cannot be turned on by waving your hand. To turn it on, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds or rotate the switch.
Battery level indication - a short press of the button (the headlamp must be off) activates the battery level indicator LED. Four illuminated LEDs mean the battery is charged at 80-100%, three illuminated mean 60-80%, two mean 40-60%, one means 20-40%, and one flashing means the battery is charged at less than 20%. This function is only available with the original ARB-LP1900 battery.
Charging
- Open the dust cover and plug the USB Type-C charging cable into the headlamp's charging port. After charging is complete, reattach the dust cover to ensure waterproofness and dustproofness.
- During charging, four indicators flash from left to right; four solid lights indicate that charging is complete.
- The normal charging time for a fully discharged headlamp with a 5 V/1 A USB adapter is 3 hours.
- The headlamp can only be used in low mode during charging.
Warning
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself; this will void the warranty.
- Use only the original Li-ion ARB-LP1900 battery; if using disposable AAA batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the headlamp.
- If the headlamp is flashing, not switching to higher output modes, or not turning on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is discharged – charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
