Giant SLR1 40 Disc 28" front wheel

Designed for versatile use, the SLR 1 40 Disc WheelSystem's braided wheels deliver low weight, excellent efficiency and power transfer, as well as excellent handling. The 40mm high rims ensure excellent efficiency on flat sections and a dynamic ride quality on hills. Hookless rims with a larger internal width offer more support for wider tires along with increased sidewall stiffness for better grip and cornering.

  • Hookless rim construction increases overall durability and offers greater internal rim width without increasing weight
  • Optimized carbon layout features high tensile carbon fibers placed in key areas to make the wheels stiff yet lightweight
  • 40mm high hookless rims provide an added aerodynamic advantage
  • Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) technology makes the wheels stiffer, more efficient and has excellent power transfer; the enlarged DBL hub flange increases the spoke reinforcement angles, increasing overall torsional/transmission and lateral stiffness for better power transfer
  • 2.8mm rim bead width increases rim stiffness for better tire support when cornering
  • The 22.4mm internal rim width is designed for wider tires and creates a larger actual tire contact patch, resulting in better traction and shock absorption for greater confidence and a better riding feel
  • Giant low-friction hubs with precision-machined internals eliminate excessive bearing loads, reducing bearing friction, reducing rolling resistance and minimizing power loss

Giant was established in 1971 in Taiwan, they are one of the largest bicycle producers in the world. In the beginning, they made bikes for other companies. Since 1981 Giant has been supplying the market with bicycles under their name. They were one of the first companies to start mass production of carbon framesets. Liv is their brand for bikes for women offering MTB, road and gravel bikes. Components are also included in their offer as well as wheelsets under the name Cadex (their brand name).
