Zipp ZR1SL rear hub, 24 holes, CL, 12x142 mm, SRAM XDR
Zipp's ZR1 SL is a lightweight, race-ready hub set built for performance and durability. The SL version, modeled after its predecessor, the ZR1 hub, has a lighter hub shell and bearing system. This hub is specially made for the highest level NSW wheels and is now available separately. The ZR1 SL comes with carbon steel bearings with the option to purchase ceramic bearings for lower weight. The hub design creates a fast-action feel with 66 engagement points. The six latches are shifted to work in two groups of three latches. At any given moment, there are always three paws in the frame. This means that the power from your legs is quickly transferred to your wheels. The driver body design keeps the latches in place so they can be disassembled for convenient servicing. Zipp hubs use J-bend spokes, the most popular type of spoke today. J-Bend spokes, widely available, are easier to replace. ZR1 hubs are approved for use with lightweight road or gravel e-bikes, as long as the motor torque does not exceed 60 Nm.
