Inner tubes for children's bicycles

Choosing the right inner tubes for a kids bike involves some aspects similar to those for adult bikes, but there are specific factors to keep in mind due to the size and use of kids bikes. Here are some tips:

  • Dimension of the inner tube: In the first step, it is necessary to determine the dimension. It is on the side of the tire, similar to adult bikes. It may say, for example, "16x2.125" or similar. Make sure the soul size matches the tire size.
  • Valve type: Check the valve type on the existing tube or valve hole in the rim. Common valve types are Presta and Schrader. Most children's bikes use Schrader valves, similar to those used on car tires.
  • Material: Butyl inner tubes are usually sufficient for children's bikes. They are durable, affordable and hold air well. Latex tubes are less common in this case.
Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for the specific model of children's bike as they may provide information on preferred inner tube specifications. In addition, make sure you have the necessary tools on hand for changing the tubes and inflating.
