Fenix HM60R rechargeable headlamp

Fenix HM60R is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp that offers a luminous flux of up to 1300 lumens with a beam of 120 meters in the main reflector. The second reflector with an output of up to 350 lumens has a very wide and continuous light trail and the shade of light is neutral (neutral white). The advantage of this shade is a more natural and contrasting presentation of colors in the field. The control of both LEDs is independent of each other, and the use of the headlamp is thus very simple (but the cones cannot be combined).

The headlamp also has a red light with a power of 5 lumens. The package also includes a rechargeable Li-ion battery type 18650 with a capacity of 2600 mAh, which is charged directly in the headlamp via the USB-C connector. In addition, in the 130 and 350 lumen modes of the remote reflector, the headlamp offers a special function called "FREEQUENCY SENSING", which detects movement and can automatically adjust the power to the selected value according to the running speed (frequency of steps). It is therefore suitable for night running, cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing, speleology and work use.

The all-metal construction ensures high resistance, optimal cooling and is also fully waterproof. All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

The Fenix APB-20, Fenix APB-30 case, a USB power adapter and a USB car adapter can also be purchased for the headlamp. For easy attachment to the helmet, the Fenix ALG-03, ALG-04 holder can be purchased.

Parameters of the Fenix HM60R rechargeable headlamp

  • It uses a powerful Cree XP-G2 LED with a neutral shade, a Luminus SST-40 LED with a daytime shade of white light and two complementary red Everlight 2835 LEDs, all with a lifetime of 50,000 hours of light.
  • Remote reflector: 1300 lm (2 h) -> 350 lm (8 h) -> 130 lm (18 h) -> 30 lm (54 h).
  • Wide reflector: 350 lm (8 h) -> 70 lm (24 h) -> red 5 lm (100 h) -> red SOS signal 5 lm ( 200 h ).
  • Luminous flux and runtimes are measured with the included Li-ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh.

The use

From the factory, there may be an insulating cap inside the lamp on the battery. Before first use , remove it from the battery.
  • When the headlamp is turned off, it will turn on the last used high beam mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (except when it is turned off in the highest mode, then it will turn on in the second highest mode next time for safety reasons)
  • The off-headlight turns on to a red light by pressing the button twice quickly.
  • The headlamp is turned off by holding down the button for 0.5 seconds.
  • With the headlamp on, it is possible to switch between the high and wide reflector by holding down the button for 1.2 seconds. However, it is not possible to start both reflectors at the same time.
If the headlamp is switched on, it is possible to cycle through power modes in the order of 30 - 130 - 350 - 1200 lm (when the remote reflector is switched on) by briefly pressing the button. The lamp has a memory for the remote reflector and will always turn on in the last set mode. With a wide reflector, it always starts with 5 lm red light and with subsequent button presses, it switches modes in the order of 70 - 350 lm white light and 5 lm red SOS signal.

Frequency Sensing - this function automatically adjusts the power according to the running speed in the 130 and 350 lm modes on the remote reflector. The standard brightness of the headlamp is set to 150 steps per minute. At a lower speed, the power itself will gradually decrease to 70%, and at a higher speed, on the contrary, it will increase the power up to 150% of normal.

Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (headlight must be switched off), the LED indicator of the battery charge status in the button is activated. Green light means the battery is 85-100% charged, flashing green light means 50-85%, red light 25-50%, flashing red light less than 25%.

Locking the headlamp against unwanted activation: Loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, this will break the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically - with the headlamp off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the lamp flashes red. To unlock, hold the button for 3 seconds again.

Protection against overheating: If the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 55 °C, it will automatically reduce the power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 55 °C, it is possible to use the highest performance modes again.

Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically discharged, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged. Note: the low battery warning is only calibrated to the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Charging

Unscrew the waterproof nut on the side that covers the USB-C connector. Connect the charging USB-C cable to the headlamp and its other end to the USB connector of the computer, USB network adapter or USB car adapter (not included in the package). Any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can also be used for charging. The side button glows red while charging and turns green when fully charged. The charging time of a fully discharged battery takes about 3 hours. The used Li-ion battery does not suffer from a memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof nut again.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
  • When using disposable CR123A batteries, do not try to charge them in the headlamp.
  • Remove the batteries from the lamp if you are not going to use them for a long time or if the batteries are already discharged. Otherwise, some low-quality batteries may damage the headlamp.
  • If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
    • Batteries are low - replace them.
    • The headlight cap is enabled - tighten it.
    • The electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
