The Fenix ​​ARB-L14-2200U rechargeable battery serves as a replacement for classic AA batteries. Inside, it is a Li-ion cell equipped with regulation electronics that maintains a fixed output voltage of 1.5 V for the first 70-80% of capacity and then maintains a constant 1.2 V until discharged. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work properly with rechargeable NiMH batteries, or only for a short time. The battery capacity is 2200 mAh (3.3 Wh which corresponds to a capacity of 2750 mAh for NiMH ).

The battery is charged only via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged e.g. from a computer, mobile phone charger, power bank or other USB source. It cannot be charged in a classic charger!

The battery also has built-in protection against total discharge and short circuit ( maximum continuous discharge current is approximately 3 A ). The battery is therefore suitable for use in cameras, navigation systems, laboratory instruments and other devices. The battery is also compatible with all Fenix ​​headlamps and flashlights using AA batteries. For example, these are the Fenix ​​E12, E20, LD12R, LD22, HM23, HP16R models.

When using this battery, it is necessary to take into account that it is not possible to reliably determine the remaining capacity based on the output voltage. During the first 70-80%, the voltage is still a constant 1.5 V and only then does it drop to 1.2 V under load. It depends on how the devices evaluate the voltage drop from 1.5 V to 1.2 V when the remaining battery capacity drops to 20-30%. When a battery is completely discharged, its voltage drops suddenly from 1.2 V to 0 V.

Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector, the light on the top of the battery lights up red during charging. It lights up blue when fully charged.
