Functionality and reliability are what every female climber needs during demanding alpine ascents, and the WESTALPEN SOFTSHELL PANT W fulfills this down to the last detail. Thanks to the combination of MERINO NATURTEC RIPS, NATURTEC LIGHT and wool materials, they provide maximum resistance, breathability, functionality and comfort. They are pants that you can rely on during demanding expeditions to high mountains.

  • The main part of the pants is made of 4-way stretch Merino Naturetec Light softshell with DWR treatment against moisture and dirt. The front part of the knees is reinforced with highly resistant Merino Naturtec Rips material.
  • In the high-cut waist, you can pull the pants down with Velcro and fasten them with metal studs, and there are also suspender loops. Nothing will push you even in combination with a seat belt.
  • On the shoulders there is an insert made of very comfortable merinoprene material, which holds the pants in place. The rest is lined with MERINO MESH wool lining, which is very pleasant to the touch, wicks away sweat and keeps them warm even after getting wet. Sweat dripping from the back is absorbed into the waist and does not flow down to the pants.
  • They have three practical pockets. The two side zip pockets are complemented by a double pocket on the thigh with an integrated plastic carabiner for an avalanche finder.

Combination of synthetics and wool for maximum durability and functionality

ORTOVOX WESTALPEN SOFTSHELL PANT W women's pants emphasize breathability and durability. That is why the hard MERINO NATURTEC LIGHT softshell from the Swiss company Schoeller® is used here. The material has a water-repellent treatment. Therefore, dirt does not stick to it and drops of water run off. The wool on the inside wicks away sweat quickly and keeps you warm even after sweating.

The highly durable MERINO NATURTEC RIPS material is used on the knees, where the pants are under the most stress. Thanks to this, they are extremely resistant to abrasion, which can be useful for the most demanding rock lengths.

The highest quality Merino wool

ORTOVOX uses only the highest quality Merino wool from Tasmania. Merino wool is a material that degrades only negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years. Merino wool comes only from selected farms that meet the strict ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP) standards.

  • ORTOVOX obtains new merino wool from certified sheep farms that adhere to ethical principles of animal treatment.
  • Only wool from Tasmanian sheep meets the demanding requirements of the ORTOVOX brand.

These farms are regularly monitored as part of the OWP. The wool itself is 100% ecological and therefore extremely environmentally sustainable. Merino wool provides perfect comfort and a feeling of softness thanks to the thin fibers that make up fine woolen yarns. In addition, this wool perfectly regulates temperature and wicks away sweat, so you will feel comfortable in any conditions. In addition, thanks to its antibacterial effects, Merino wool neutralizes odors and is very easy to care for.

Leg reinforcement and elaborate functional elements

A fundamental advantage of the ORTOVOX WESTALPEN SOFTSHELL PANTS W women's pants is their system of integrated sleeves against snow - QUICK GAITER. The special trouser cuff developed by the ORTOVOX brand can be easily and quickly adjusted in three steps exactly according to the dimensions of your shoes.

The fastening straps, which you pass under the sole of the shoe, are made of durable and light Dyneema material. Men's ORTOVOX WESTALPEN SOFTSHELL PANTS also offer reinforced protection against sharp edges, which is provided by inserts made of durable Schoeller® material. Thanks to the ventilation zippers, they will be comfortable even in warm weather.
