Rab Filament Neck Tube neck warmer, tempest blue
The Rab Filament Neck Tube is a slightly different neck tube than what we are most used to. It is made of structured fleece, which perfectly provides warmth, but also perfectly wicks sweat away from the skin. Rab started 2020 in a big way, setting itself the goal of gradually developing sustainability and minimizing our footprint as much as possible. However, this is not some kind of first-rate "marketing" plan, but Rab takes great care in evaluating recycling methods to make sure it all makes sense.
The base of the neck warmer is made of recycled Thermic™ fleece material, which provides proper insulation. Rab has solved breathability and sweat removal from the skin with a structure with horizontal stripes on the inside, in which larger and smaller amounts of insulation alternate. The material insulates through the stripes with a larger amount of fleece and wicks away sweat through the stripes with a smaller amount. After the first few uses, we find that this system wicks sweat better than previous grid structures on the Power Grid sweatshirt and dries faster.
This neck warmer will definitely find use for all outdoor activities in colder conditions. Like almost all neck warmers, this one is tall enough that it can be turned into a hat or headband in no time.
