Mountain Equipment Oreus Women's Jacket

This piece from Mountain Equipment is the warmest, lightest and most packable jacket in the synthetic insulation collection, thanks to the unique AethermTM insulation, developed directly by Mountain Equipment's own developers. The jacket is very versatile, comfortable and moisture-resistant, making it a great piece for mountaineering or trekking in demanding conditions. It takes up minimal space in your backpack, but when the weather turns, the OREUS literally changes the game. You'll definitely appreciate the insulated Mountain HC Hood compatible with a helmet and the elasticated cuffs that fit perfectly even over gloves.



The jacket is the result of five years of development. First, it was mainly about developing a unique patented insulating material, and then about other aspects – the materials used, the cut, and technical features such as the hood, etc. This jacket has undergone countless tests in the lab and in the field, numerous prototypes have been created, tested by a team of ambassadors in the harshest high-mountain conditions, until the best mid-weight synthetic jacket on the market was created.

Unique All-Round Insulator

The Oreus jacket is incredibly versatile. Take it anywhere you need low weight, but at the same time fear the cold and bad weather. It is a very light and easily packable warm jacket that won't let you down even in adverse weather conditions and is suitable for almost any activity, from expedition climbing to alpinism, winter and summer climbing, to lightweight travel.

The outer material is made of 100% recycled PLASMA 10D treated with FC free waterproof DWR treatment - incredibly light and breathable
Groundbreaking synthetic insulation material Aetherm TM provides an excellent insulation-to-weight ratio, great breathability, and great packability
High-quality two-way YKK®zipper with an internal insulated flap preventing heat loss and a snap at the bottom
When belaying, you can unfasten the bottom part of the jacket and secure it with a snap under the belay device. This way, the jacket won't hinder you when working with the rope.
Two insulated hand pockets, one external chest pocket
Internal laminated top-opening pocket e.g. for gloves, skins or a water bottle
Adjustable hem of the jacket with drawstrings
Separate cord for tightening front and back parts, so that there is no danger of getting caught in the carabiner when you attach it to the material eye of the seat harness
You can pack the jacket in its own pocket and fasten it to the seat with a carabiner using two loops
