This, combined with a very reasonable price, immediately ensured that Patagonia's Torrentshell 3L became their best-selling jacket.As with the Torrentshell 3L rain pants, the main zipper is unfortunately not 100% waterproof. Therefore, don't expect to stay dry if you encounter heavy rain while hiking the Cape Wrath Trail. In this price range, you can't expect the same durability as more expensive raincoats. For example, RAB's Kangri GTX is twice as expensive but will probably last twice as long.
Despite this, the Torrentshell 3L remains easily Patagonia's best-selling raincoat. Windproof, waterproof, breathable, light and compact. And all this for a more than reasonable price.
