Although the Bell brand is an undisputed leader in helmets with a removable chin guard, we are constantly striving to overcome ourselves. The Super Air R model is not a simple facelift of the Super 3R helmet. It's a new helmet from the ground up that weighs an incredible 144 grams less. Add to that significantly better ventilation, easier clamping with two washers (instead of three) and the innovative Spherical Powered by MIPS technology, which acts as a kind of suspension inside the helmet. The helmet actually consists of two hemispheres: an outer made of harder EPS foam and an inner made of softer EPP foam. The two are connected by yellow elastomers and slide together like a joint. In the event of an impact, the outer hemisphere stops immediately, while the inner hemisphere, even with the head, can continue the movement, which slowly dampens the elastomers. Just suspension.
