A key feature of the Insurgent helmet is the advanced Spherical Technology Powered by Mips. This unique system, developed by Giro in collaboration with Mips, works on the principle of a hinge – the helmet consists of two parts (hemispheres) connected by elastomers and hinge like a hinge. Thanks to this, the outer layer can rotate around the inner layer in the event of an impact, thereby reducing the forces that would otherwise act directly on the brain. This structural solution completely replaces the classic plastic Mips liner used by Mips helmets without Spherical technology.

Giro Insurgent Spherical Helmet
The new Insurgent Spherical full-face helmet offers the high level of protection demanded by top riders of the Enduro World Series (EWS) or Red Bull Rampage. During the development of this helmet, the Giro design and engineering team focused not only on protection but also on the best possible ventilation (50% better than the previous Disciple Mips model), and they didn't forget about wicking sweat away from the forehead. Two sets of cheek pads of different thicknesses allow you to adjust the helmet for a perfect fit. They are secured with a snap-away system, which allows for easy and head- and neck-friendly removal in case of an accident. Weighing 1040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent is 200 grams lighter than the previous Disciple Mips model, even though the new model is better equipped.A key feature of the Insurgent helmet is the advanced Spherical Technology Powered by Mips. The adjustable label is fixed with three screws (on the sides and in the middle) and no tools are needed to change its position. The screws are made of plastic, so that for safety reasons, they break off easily in the event of an impact and the label flies off (remaining screws are removed with an Allen key)

The action camera is mounted on the underside of the plate, which will be stable thanks to the central mount even when driving with the camera mounted (there is a fixed position for mounting the plate for installing the camera)

Progressive Layering technology, which consists of two different hardnesses of the outer and inner layers. While the outer layer made of EPS foam is harder and is thus prepared to absorb impacts at high speeds, the inner layer made of EPP foam is softer and has reflective properties in order to absorb impacts at lower speeds as much as possible.
