The Garmin Forerunner 165 Music is a running smartwatch with GPS, designed to help you achieve your goals with personalized adaptive training plans. All data is displayed on a bright 30.4 mm diameter touchscreen AMOLED display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels, which also supports traditional button control. The watch has a sleek and lightweight 43 mm case and weighs 39 g.Thanks to the built-in optical heart rate sensor and wrist-based Pulse Ox, you can monitor your heart rate even while swimming. The watch offers the Running Power feature, which estimates running power based on pace, vertical oscillation, and terrain slope, helping to optimize effort distribution. The integrated MP3 player allows you to play music directly from your wrist by connecting wireless Bluetooth headphones, with playlists that can be synced via USB or streaming services. The incident detection feature sends an SMS with your coordinates to an emergency contact in case of a fall, if the watch is paired with a compatible smartphone.
The watch provides comprehensive health and training monitoring, including menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking, a morning report with information on weather, sleep, recovery time, and HRV status. It offers daily training recommendations, VO2 max estimation, Training Effect for aerobic and anaerobic fitness, Race Predictor for race result estimation, and Recovery Advisor for displaying recovery time. Advanced wrist-based running metrics include ground contact time, stride length, and vertical ratio. Sleep monitoring tracks sleep stages, heart rate, stress, Pulse Ox, and respiration, including nap tracking. The built-in barometric altimeter calculates climbed and descended floors.
