Fenix HL18R-T rechargeable headlamp, orange
Fenix HL18R-T rechargeable headlamp
The compact rechargeable Fenix HL18R-T headlamp delivers a luminous flux of up to 500 lumens (ANSI) and an afterglow of up to 82 meters. Power is provided by a replaceable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 1300 mAh, which is charged via a micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp. The battery can be removed and replaced in an emergency with three regular AAA batteries (they cannot be charged in the headlamp). The light source is a modern LED Cree XP-G3 with a neutral shade of light, which is located in the main reflector. Additional lighting is provided by two white Everlight 2835 LEDs, which create a wide and very smooth cone of light.A total of 5 power modes are available, including an SOS flash mode for emergency situations. The headlamp is also equipped with an innovative function of extending the endurance. During prolonged use of individual light modes, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small steps to achieve a longer lighting time. However, the reduction in performance is not as significant as with the older HL18R headlamp.
The headlamp is equipped with a wide strap with the new Sport Fit System with one rotary wheel for easy adjustment of the strap length. You can quickly and comfortably tighten the headlamp on your head with one hand. The strap is also perforated and equipped with reflective elements that ensure passive visibility when running on the road. Thanks to the weight of only 91 grams, the Fenix HL18R-T will serve well as a running headlamp as well as a headlamp for camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.
All parameters of the headlamp (luminous flux, operating time on batteries, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
The Fenix APB-20 case, a USB power adapter and a USB car adapter can be purchased for the headlamp. You can also order a spare strap without a tightening wheel in several color variants.
Fenix HL18R-T headlamp parameters
Headlamp Modes:- Li-pol battery 1300 mAh: 500 lumens (3 hours) -> 200 lumens (8 hours) -> 70 lumens (20 hours)
- 3x AAA batteries: 500 lumens (4 hours) -> 200 lumens (11 hours) -> 70 lumens (20 hours)
- Li-pol battery 1300 mAh: 30 lumens (30 hours) -> SOS flashing 4 lumens (300 hours).
- 3x AAA batteries: 30 lumens (43 hours) -> SOS flashing 4 lumens (300 hours).
The use
The main reflector is turned on and off by pressing the right button for 0.5 seconds, the additional LEDs are turned on and off by holding down the left button. The main reflector is always switched on in the 200 lumen mode, the additional LEDs are switched on in the 30 lumen mode, you can switch to other power levels at any time during operation by briefly pressing the corresponding button. The main reflector and additional LEDs cannot be activated at the same time.Using the rotary wheel to adjust the length of the head strap: To tighten the strap, press the wheel and turn it clockwise. To loosen the strap, pull out the wheel and loosen the strap.
Battery charge status indication - after a short press of the left button (headlight must be switched off), the LED battery charge status indicator on the bottom of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is more than 80% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one 20-40% and one blinking means the battery is less than 20% charged.
The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous activation, e.g. when transporting in luggage - hold both buttons pressed for 3 seconds. To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.
Protection against overheating - If the internal temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65 °C, it will automatically reduce the power.
Charging
- Unfold the rubber cover of the micro USB connector on the bottom of the headlamp and use the included USB cable to connect it to a computer, power bank, network USB adapter or USB car adapter. Any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can also be used for charging.
- During charging, the four indicator diodes on the bottom gradually light up, after full charge they all light up permanently.
- The charging time of a fully discharged battery takes approx. 2.5 hours.
- The used battery does not suffer from a memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time.
- Carefully seal the USB connector cap after each charge.
- During charging, the headlamp can be turned on, but only in the lowest mode.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
- Never use different discharged AAA batteries or batteries with different capacities.
- Always carefully check that you insert the batteries into the headlamp with the correct polarity.
- If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be because the battery is almost empty - charge it.
