We have taken everything we have learned over the last 5 years and turned it into reality. The Nova Ride EVO derailleur arm takes everything that made the original great and takes it to the next level. The new construction, which retains the Nova Ride DNA, has been optimized for superior stiffness and durability. Its unique and recognizable appearance is the result of careful attention paid to a number of thoughtful design details. The design of the carbon cage and pulleys has been completely redesigned, both in terms of their geometry and the thickness of the materials, with the aim of offering a product with a more modern visual harmony while maximizing its lightness and performance. Following on from the success of the CCD AERO, the CCD EVO features a redesigned, wind tunnel-tested front surface and bolts that optimize air penetration and improve aerodynamics by 66% compared to the CCD. The improvement in the surface treatment includes a new overall design approach, where the geometry and thicknesses are subtly reworked, which inevitably leads to a 200% increase in machining time.
The rear of the cage features new black titanium bolts that contribute to weight savings and a premium aesthetic. The black finish of the structure improves visual integration with your bike, while titanium ensures an optimal weight-to-strength ratio.
Thanks to the upper 14-tooth and lower 17-tooth pulleys, the chain's movement is optimized as it passes through the pulleys and bending and friction are minimized, which saves 4-6 watts compared to a standard arm. Both color-anodized pulleys are made of solid AL7075 duralumin alloy and equipped with all-ceramic bearings with minimal rolling resistance that do not require any special maintenance or lubrication! All-ceramic bearings feature high-precision ceramic balls as well as ceramic raceways made of silicon nitride. The main advantages of all-ceramic bearings compared to standard bearings are their longer service life, lower weight, greater strength, lower rolling resistance and excellent anti-corrosion properties. Their weight is about 60% lower, while they are 7 times stronger compared to steel balls. The used seal minimizes friction and protects the bearing against dirt ingress.
