Aluminum alloy of the seven series was used as material, while the addition of SL in the model name obviously indicates that the manufacturer tried for maximum weight reduction. The basic shape of the arch is typical of the Zipp brand. The completely straight upper part provides a comfortable grip, is complemented by a standard offset and an ideally shaped lower part of the arch, allowing two optimal positions for the hand. The depth of the arches is average, while it will suit both racers and demanding hobby riders. It goes without saying that the surface treatment of the places covered by the wrap is thicker and, above all, a significantly roughened surface in the area of contact with the stem. This allows the use of a slightly lower tightening torque, for example when combined with a super light carbon stem. That the designers of the Zipp brand are complete perfectionists is proven not only by the logo and the model name at the end of the handlebars, but also by several lines that facilitate eventual cutting and shortening of the ends. In addition, on the right side, there is even a miniature drawing of the handlebars, complete with all dimensions, i.e. offset, depth of arches and diameter of the clamping part. In addition, the handlebars also have a scale printed on the side, facilitating the adjustment of both brake/steering levers to the same height. The weight of the handlebars in the most common width of 440 mm is 295 grams. If someone feels that it is not exactly the lowest value among duralumin models, then we recommend looking at the width of the profile of the entire upper grip part. These handlebars are designed for not the lowest weight, but the best ratio of weight and overall stiffness. And that's exactly what racers demand.
