For safety, be sure to read this "user's manual" thoroughly before use, follow it for correct use, and save it so that you can refer back to it at any time.

Ensuring Safety
- Follow the instructions below to prevent burns or other injuries due to fluid leaks, overheating, fire, or explosion.
For Safe Riding
- While riding, be careful not to devote your attention to the cycle computer display excessively. Otherwise, you may have an accident.
- Before riding the bicycle, check that the wheels are securely mounted to the bicycle. If the wheels are not securely mounted, the bicycle may topple over and cause a serious injury.
- When riding an electrically assisted bicycle, be sure to fully familiarize yourself with the bicycle's starting characteristics before riding in roadways with multiple lanes for vehicles and in pedestrian walkways. If the bicycle starts suddenly, it may lead to an accident.
- Before riding the bicycle, make sure that the front and rear lights can be turned on.
Safely Using the Product
- Before wiring or mounting parts to the bicycle, remove the battery and the charging cable. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
- Do not move the bicycle while the battery installed on the bicycle is charging. The battery charger's AC plug may become loose and may not be fully plugged into the electrical outlet, posing a risk of fire.
- Avoid touching the drive unit after it has been used continuously for a long time. The surface of the drive unit will become hot, and contact with it may cause burns.
- Clean the chain regularly using an appropriate chain cleaner. The frequency of maintenance will vary depending on the riding conditions.
- Never use alkaline or acidic cleaning agents to remove rust. Using such cleaning agents may cause damage to the chain and result in serious injury.
- Be sure to follow the instructions in the user's manual when installing this product. In addition, it is recommended that only genuine SHIMANO parts be used. If bolts and nuts remain loose or if the product becomes damaged, the bicycle may topple over suddenly and result in serious injury.
Handling the Battery
- If fluid leaking from the battery gets into your eyes, immediately flush the affected area thoroughly with clean drinking water (tap water) without rubbing your eyes, and immediately seek medical attention. Failure to do so may damage your eyes due to the battery fluid.
- Do not charge the battery in places with high humidity or in outdoor environments. Otherwise, electric shock may result.
- Do not insert or pull out the plug if it is wet. Failure to observe this may result in electric shock. If water is leaking from the plug, thoroughly dry it before inserting it.
- If the battery does not fully charge even 2 hours after the specified charging time, immediately disconnect the battery from the outlet and contact the place of purchase. Otherwise, it may overheat, rupture, or ignite. Refer to the user's manual for the battery charger for the appropriate battery charging time.
- Do not use the battery if it has noticeable scratches or other external damage. Otherwise, it may rupture, overheat, or have operating problems.
- The operating temperature ranges for the battery are shown below. Do not use the battery at temperatures outside of these ranges.
If the battery is used or stored at temperatures outside of these ranges, fire, injury, or operating problems may result.
