Since his humble beginnings as a teenager welding together broken bicycle frames in his parents' garage in California over 50 years ago, Tom Ritchey has been riding, researching, designing and manufacturing legendary frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists to ride great, in the cycling industry and won countless championships. And if Tom knows anything after a lifetime of off-road riding, it's how to design a stunning bike.

This special 50th anniversary model of the Ultra pays tribute to the distinguished history of the Tom brand - an aesthetic nod to the past, while at the same time emphatically delivering the breathtaking modern mountain bike experience that the Ultra is known for. As a tribute to Ritchey's rich history and sporting heritage of legendary mountain bikes, the 50th Anniversary Edition frame is wrapped in the iconic red, white and blue faded paint and features logos that refer to the company's history and the influence that Palo Alto, California had on Tom. The Ultra model is designed around a 120mm travel fork and super stable Boost 148 wheelbase. Most of the fun is in the wheels. The Ultra model is designed for 29" or 27.5" wheels and is very versatile. Put on 29 wheels for trail XC riding, or saddle up with 27.5+ wheels for a proper ride without obstacles.
