The iconic wavy profile combined with a more modern flatter surface helps keep the rider in a stable position, reducing fatigue on long rides on the road and in more challenging terrain. The ergonomic center cutout, developed in collaboration with doctors, specifically relieves sensitive areas and promotes healthy blood circulation.
The R1's construction uses ultra-stiff carbon rails and a carbon-reinforced nylon shell, making the saddle very light while maintaining high durability. Lightweight, injected EVA foam padding effectively dampens vibrations and maintains its shape even under prolonged stress, contributing to greater comfort on broken roads.
