The Park Tool BBT-169 is a robust tool precisely manufactured from 4140 steel, designed for the removal and installation of components with 16-tooth splines. Its construction features an extra-deep body for wider axles and low-profile walls for recessed lockrings, ensuring broad compatibility.

This tool is suitable for 16-tooth splines with an outer diameter of 44–45 mm and an inner diameter of 42.7 mm. It is compatible with bottom brackets from Shimano® (BB80, BB5700, XT® BB70, BB51, and older external bearing threaded cups), Campagnolo®, Chris King®, FSA® MegaExo®, Hope™, SRAM®/Truvativ® GXP®, Race Face® X-type, Surly®, Wheels®, Fulcrum®, and others. It also serves for servicing Centerlock disc brake lockrings and the lockrings of Bafang BBSH, BBS02 electric bike mid-drive motors. For increased stability, it is equipped with integrated threads that allow for use with the Park Tool BBT-RS holding system or GPS-1 guide pins. The tool is not suitable for use with impact wrenches.
