When Castelli created the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy. Back then, aero was only used in triathlon. Professional clothing at the time only meant moisture management. But you can win the Tour de France in a jersey that is little more than a polyester t-shirt. Since Castelli's aerodynamic consultants predicted small speed gains, they named their jersey "Fraction of a second". Nevertheless, they decided it was worth continuing. In the end, the gains were quite substantial, and so they began the revolution in professional peloton clothing.
This is now the sixth major revision of this jersey. Each generation has become more airy and offered a better fit. The Aero Race 6.0 has significantly benefited from CFD aero analysis regarding the placement of fabrics and seams in the riding position. Riders from the ProTour team also provide useful feedback, as Castelli has worked to make the jersey comfortable throughout training and during races in all possible weather conditions. Version 6.0 is so far their most aero and most comfortable jersey. But they are already working on version 6.1 ...
