At Castelli, they think that in the form of the new generation Alpha Doppio RoS, they have made their best jacket even better.
Even the best currently available materials with a good level of breathability cannot deal with the sweat and heat generated during high-intensity riding. That's why Castelli has developed a two-layer construction, which allows you to have the outer, windproof layer unzipped, while the inner insulation layer remains on. Thanks to the air flow, moisture can escape, and the outer layer does not come into direct contact with the skin. When riding uphill, you can completely unzip the outer layer to vent the moisture and zip it up before going down, and you'll be completely dry inside. It works so well that you feel like they are lines.
For this generation, a softer and warmer insulating material was used - Polartec® Alpha Direct. The manufacturers also made a few changes to the ends of the jacket: the neck, the waist and, mainly, the wrists. They lengthened the neck and made it durable so that it moves with you, whether you are pedalling while standing or riding with a friend at a joint training session in January. On the waist, they created a stretch panel with a flat silicone hem that fits perfectly and insulates from the wind without rolling or sliding up. They have updated the wrist hem, which now has an inner layer that fits tightly to the wrist. It continues into the glove and an outer layer that wraps around the outside of the glove, so water flows out and not into the glove.
This jacket can withstand wet conditions. GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® is used with waterproof sealing of critical seams on the shoulders. The other seams are hidden from direct contact with water, and the water-repellent treatment of the fabric keeps most of the moisture out. The jacket is, as Castelli says, “essentially waterproof”, to the maximum extent while maintaining a balance between water protection, breathability, and comfort. They don't claim that not even a drop will penetrate, but their riders regularly complete long rides in rainy weather and are completely dry. These features make it the jacket of choice for most of their ambassadors and staff, and is the most versatile winter jacket they've ever produced.

Perfektna bunda, splnila ocakavania. Trochu som mal obavy, ze nebude az taka dobra ako stara Castelli ALPHA RoS 2, ktoru nosim uz piaty rok. ALPHA DOPPIO RoS posobila ovela tensie a lahsie ako stara, obaval som sa ze v nej bude zima, ale opak je pravdou. Dvoj hodinovy vyjazd na zaciatku +2, na konci vecer -4 stupne. Pod bundu ak uz je teplota pod bodom mrazu davam Brynje a merino natelnik. Citil som sa perfektne, komfortne, ani naznak zimy a chladu. Mam 178 cm 67 kg, bunda sedi velmi dobre, mohla byt o kusok mensia, ale to je detail. Top produkt po vsetkych smeroch, materal, strih dlzka. Chlapci a dievcata z Isadore sa maju este vela co ucit...

Výborná bunda ktorá do bodky splnila očakávania. Na postavu 180 CM 90 kg mi perfektne sadla veľkosť XXL. Bunde nemám čo vytknúť. Zatiaľ jazdena v teplotách od -2 do + 10 a perfektný komfort.
