If you look closely, the Perfetto RoS 2 is essentially the long-sleeved Gabba RoS 2 version. So is it just a warmer Gabba? Not really.
The long sleeves make it a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. Just like the Gabba, the RoS designation means it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability, as well as in wet conditions thanks to Castelli's exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics. The front has a light fleece material inside with water resistance on the surface, while a lighter and more stretchy fabric is on the back, maximizing breathability and comfort while providing excellent water repellency.
The Perfetto RoS 2 jacket will keep all the cold wind out while being much more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used on most jackets trying to compete with the Perfetto. Since you stay drier, you don't need as many layers underneath. The beauty of this jacket is that it has no insulation itself, so a thin base layer is just right for mild conditions, while adding an insulating layer (a warm jersey or Castelli Alpha 2nd Layer) will get you down below freezing. You decide.
The "2" in the name refers to the updates of the latest version, including a YKK® Vislon® two-way zipper for even better adjustable ventilation. The reflective elements on the back are more visible, the seam at the top of the shoulder has been moved to the back, and the three pockets hold more items. The Perfetto still remains performance-oriented, but the new model has more room across the chest, shoulders, and biceps.
This is the jacket that belongs in every cyclist's wardrobe.
