This slim jacket provides an effective barrier against wind and splashing water while providing you with a surprising amount of warmth, while being so light and flexible that you hardly notice you're wearing it. But we have to start dressing warmer, we miss the freedom to wear only a jersey. That's why Castelli made this jacket. They've used the lightest, most stretchy fabrics to create a jacket that blocks most of the wind, remains highly breathable and provides an extremely high level of water protection. Well, it basically disappears on you, so you won't even notice it.
It is a powerful piece, and the manufacturer has put all their effort into designing it. They didn't add anything unnecessary, unless you consider the large reflective panel on the back unnecessary. They gave it a body-hugging cut, so it won't flutter in the wind, which also helps the jacket retain more warmth. The pockets are generous and easily accessible, the zipper slides easily, and the logos are discreet.
