Grips, bar tapes and bar ends for handlebars

Inspired by advances in running shoe foam and F1 tires, as well as their own research into roll efficiency, impedance and damping, Silca realised that new materials technology could enable a significant improvement in handlebar wrapping. By using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimised in a range of desired properties. The resulting tape has a softer, more comfortable feel, a higher grip on wet and dry surfaces, better vibration isolation and a 3-5x longer life than existing tape materials. Since the actual tape wrapping can be just as important as the tape itself, they've also developed an all-adherent bowtie that better covers the lever sleeve portion without adding bulk, a high-adhesion finishing tape, and expanded aluminium-composite ends to make every detail perfect.
