Wolf Tooth bearings use a specific design where both the balls and raceways are made of hardened chrome bearing steel. It has a higher surface hardness than stainless steel, which increases the life of the tracks and reduces rolling resistance and noise. Additionally, the bearing races are coated with ACOSUR ZNA, which provides corrosion resistance comparable to or better than stainless steel, as verified by a 500-hour salt spray test.
