The fact that the Gabba was created for racing in the rain means that breathability was limited to ensure maximum protection from water. If you don't ride in the rain, why not increase breathability in an effort to make a better jacket for dry weather? The secret lies in Castelli Ristretto technology. During development, we considered air permeability and created a material that is wind-resistant but allows a very small amount of air to pass through the fabric, allowing for better evaporation of sweat and keeping you dry. How much air does it let through? DO.DI.CI. means "twelve" in Italian, because this jacket lets 12 times more air through than the old Gabba. It's like the difference between drying cycling shorts in a cold, damp cellar and in a room with a light breeze. The fabric is extremely elastic, so you get an unparalleled fit. And what about rain? The fabric will withstand a maximum light spray from the wheels, but if rain threatens during the ride, you can pack the Ultra Rain Cape or Squall Shell Jacket in the middle pocket.
