I was interested in the design of these sneakers, and since the "heel" keeps coming off on my old 12-year-old road SPD-SL, I went to Hrádek today to try the size, I bought it and immediately tested it on the ride.

I LIKE: The sneakers are very light and at the same time strong. Compared to the old Shimano road shoes, which have an extra hard sole with supposedly carbon fibers, I don't notice any difference (but then again, I'm not a horse shot pro).

DISLIKES: They are very tight! I couldn't even put on my regular size 46, my foot simply didn't fit there (high instep). Unfortunately there is rubber, no fastening, so the only option is to take a bigger one. I had a hard time getting to 47 and told myself that the rubber will stretch out a bit over time and it will go better. They are unnecessarily long for me, but that doesn't bother me. I tried them in the store for a long time, I felt embarrassed - and during that time I didn't feel any problem, so I bought them. Unfortunately, the problem appeared on the first short ride (2 hours, 60 km) - during the ride OK, but when I got off the bike, I realized a significant pressure and a slight pain on the side of my leg, they are just really narrow. I'm afraid that it won't be bearable during long trips in the summer, but that will show over time and I'll write more if necessary.

OTHER NOTES: The sneakers look very airy and I expected them to be cold in the cold autumn weather. I purposely put on the same socks that I wear in this temperature and found out that it was the other way around - unlike several of my other triples (SPD and SPD-SL, all summer Shimano) I didn't have cold toes in these. Sometimes it can be an advantage, other times a disadvantage, I'll see again in the summer when it's hot.

UPDATE AFTER 400 KM: So I've already been in them for 4-hour trips over 100 km and while driving there's really no problem with pressure, they push me from the side only when walking, you can walk around 100 m of the pedestrian zone. And they actually blow less in the cold, which is currently (October) an advantage.

SUMMER UPDATE AFTER 3000 KM: I don't feel any overheating of my legs in the summer heat, and I don't notice the original problem with them being narrow anymore - they probably stretched a bit. But a problem appeared on long trips - after a few hours without a break, my right foot starts to hurt a lot at the point of attachment. If I don't take a break, the pain grows into excruciating pain. I also tried moving the clamp in different ways, but it doesn't matter (or it only helps for a while). I didn't have this problem with my old sneakers, so I don't know if it's the less hard sole and I don't understand why only my right foot is causing the problem. This is not a one-time problem with the leg, I have been observing it for several months. So, unfortunately, I have to take old sneakers for day trips.

They are narrow, I really had to buy a size bigger. But I got used to them, they don't squeeze, they sit really perfectly. When driving, I don't even feel that I have them on. They are light and really comfortable.

Dobré tretry za prijateľnú cenu. Porovnanie s Shimano SH-RC702:

- obe vel. 42, DMT na nohu 27cm oproti 26,7cm Shimano
- DMT je rádovo o level nižšie, čomu zodpovedá cena
- DMT vyzerajú na pohlaď menšie a užšie, reálne sú však o niečo vnútorne väčšie
- DMT sú pohodlnejšie, pocitovo voľnejšie ako SH, nikde nič netlačí, príjemnejšie na nohu oproti SH, dajú sa však dobre utiahnuť podľa potreby
- do DMT sa výrazne horšie obúva (s obuvákom relatívne OK)
- DMT má pocitovo o dosť menej tuhú podrážku oproti SH, čo pre "wattage bazooka" jazdca môže byť problém
- DMT absencia čiar na podrážke na nastavovanie kufrov (osobne to nebol problém)
- DMT su lahsie (hmotnost s kuframi 550g vs 600g SH)

The sneakers are breathable and stiff, but the material does not allow to fully adapt to the foot, and if you have a wider foot, it is important to try them on before buying, ideal even with a short trip.

From my experience, despite the heavier footwear, the foot can fit in them, but if the BOA system is tightened too much, the foot can suffer.
