Shimano SM-SH10 road cleats, no play, red
Shimano SM-SH10 are road cleats for the SPD-SL system with a completely solid, play-free clamping of the shoe in the pedal. They provide a maximum rigid connection between the foot and the pedal without the possibility of rotation, which will be especially appreciated by experienced cyclists and users of clipless pedals. CAUTION – Failure to follow the instructions could result in personal injury, or physical damage to equipment and surroundings.
WARNING
- Do not disassemble or modify the product. It may cause the product to not operate correctly, and you may fall unexpectedly and be seriously injured.
- Before you attempt to ride with these pedals and cleats (on shoes), be sure you understand the operation of the engagement/release mechanism for the pedals and cleats (on shoes). SPD-SL pedals are designed to release only when you intend to release. They are not designed to release automatically in a crash.
- Only use SPD-SL shoes with this product. Other types of shoes may not release from the pedals, or may release unexpectedly.
- Use only SHIMANO cleats and securely tighten the mounting bolts to the shoes. If the bolts are not securely tightened, your foot may come off of the pedals, or you may fall when the cleats do not release.
- Before you attempt to ride with these pedals and cleats, apply the brakes, then place one foot on the ground and practice engaging and releasing each cleat from the pedal until you can do so instinctively and with minimal effort.
- Practice riding on a level surface first until you become adept at engaging and releasing the cleats from the pedals.
- Be sure to adjust the cleat retention force on the pedals to your liking before riding. If the cleat retention force on the pedals is weak, the cleats may release accidentally, you may lose your balance, and you may fall off of the bicycle. If the cleat retention force on the pedals is strong, the cleats may not release easily.
- At slow speeds or in situations where there is a possibility that you may need to stop (such as when making a U-turn, at intersections, when riding uphill, or when cornering sharply), release the cleats from the pedals beforehand so that you can quickly put your feet on the ground if necessary.
- When riding in adverse conditions, use a lighter cleat retention force to attach the pedal cleats.
- Keep cleats and bindings clear of dirt and debris to ensure proper engagement and release.
- Be sure to periodically inspect the cleats for wear. When the cleats are worn, replace the cleats and adjust the cleat retention force before riding and after replacing the pedal cleats. If you do not heed the above warnings, your shoes may not come out of the pedals when you want them to, or they may come out unexpectedly or accidentally, and serious injury may result.
-If the reflectors are dirty or damaged, do not continue riding the bicycle. Otherwise, it may be difficult for oncoming vehicles to spot you.
