Schwalbe SMART SAM PLUS 29x2.35" SnakeSkin GreenGuard tyre, wire bead, reflex

The tires are perfect, the price-performance ratio was very good, I experienced this while looking at the other products. I will shop here again next time. I recommend it to everyone!

Kvalitné, odolné, robustné. Mám ich na mtb 27,5 " ako aj e-mtb 29".

I bought these tires primarily for the increased puncture protection, instead of the original WTB Trail Boss tires, on which I often got punctures from small thorns in the terrain. Unfortunately, I am personally quite disappointed, based on my initial experience they are probably even worse than the WTB ones because:

1) The first minus: they were very difficult to put on the rim, they are very stiff (apparently this can be attributed to their thickness for protection, ok) and the actual snapping into the bead was only possible at 2.5 bars... it would be ideal if the manufacturer replaced the wire with Kevlar.
2) The second minus is the quality of workmanship - if it weren't for the reflective strip, I probably wouldn't have noticed under normal circumstances that there are bulges around the perimeter of the plastic after inflating the inner tube. They are not big and I don't know if that's normal or not, because with other plastics you probably don't even notice it... here it shows itself because of the aforementioned reflective strip (see photo) which is already crooked at first glance if there is any imperfection on the plastic.
3) The third minus is the declared protection - I put the tires on 3 days ago, Monday, I haven't even been out in the field with them yet, I've only been driving along the main road to the city 4 times to the bottom (there and back) or maybe about 20km of asphalt and I already got a puncture. At first I thought that maybe I had pinched the inner tube somewhere between the tire and the bead, or the strap had shifted from its place when putting on the tire and the spike had punctured my inner tube, because they were really hard to put on... but when I opened the tire, took out the inner tube and checked it, it was really a puncture. Of course, I checked the tire thoroughly from the outside and inside and I didn't find any thorns or any signs of a puncture. There is a small hole in the inner tube right in the imaginary center of the tread, in the place where the protective layer should be as big/thick as possible (at least that's what it looks like from the picture).

Paradoxically, the tube itself is from Schwalbe. I thought they were a quality manufacturer, but they didn't really excel with this plastic. I replaced the tube with Continental and I'll see what my experience will be when I look at the terrain... I'll give them a second chance, so I hope it will be better and maybe at least by the end of this season I won't have to deal with a puncture anymore.
I'll write an update with more experiences in a while, but unfortunately I don't recommend these plastics to anyone yet.

Tieto plaste som si zakupil primarne kvoli zvysenej ochrane proti prepichnutiu, namiesto povodnych WTB Trail Boss na ktorych som dost casto v terene chytal defekt od malych trnov. Zial osobne som dost sklamany, podla prvotnej skusenosti su snad este horsie ako tie WTB lebo:

1) Prve minus: je ze sa len velmi tazko nahadzovali na rafik, su velmi tuhe (zrejme sa to da prisudit ich hrubke kvoli ochrane, ok) a samotne zaskocenie do patky sa podarilo az pri 2.5 baroch... idealne by bolo keby vyrobca nahradil drot kevlarom.
2) Druhe minus je kvalita spracovania - nebyt reflexneho pruzku asi by som za normalnych okolnosti nevsimol ze su po obvode plasta po dofukani duse vypukliny. Nie su velke a neviem ci to je normalne alebo nie, kedze pri inych plastoch si to zrejme clovek ani nevsimne... tu sa to samo ukazuje kvoli spominanemu reflexnemu pruzku (vid foto) ktory je uz na prvy pohlad krivy ak je na plasti nejaka nedokonalost.
3) Tretie minus je deklarovana ochrana - plaste som nahodil pred 3 dnami pondelok, este som s nimi nebol ani v terene, iba co sa presuvam po hlavnej ceste do mesta 4x do dna (tam, spat) cize mozno nejakych cca 20km asfaltovych a uz som dostal defekt. Najprv som si myslel ze som snad niekde pricvakol dusu medzi plastom a patkou, alebo sa paska uhla zo svojho miesta pri nasadzovani plasta a spic mi prepichol dusu, lebo fakt sa dost tazko nahadzovali... ale ked som otvoril plast, vybral dusu a skontroloval tak to bol fakt defekt. Plast som samozrejme dokladne skontroloval zvonku aj zvnutra a ziaden trn alebo nejaky naznak prepichu som nenasiel. V dusi je mala dierka priamo akoby v pomyselnom strede behuna, cize na mieste kde by ta ochranna vrstva mala byt co najvacsia/najhrubsia (aspon sa to tak zda z obrazku).

Pradoxne aj tu samotnu dusu mam od Schwalbe. Mal som ich za kvalitneho vyrobcu ale velmi sa tymto plastom nevyznamenali. Vymenil som dusu za Continental a uvidim ake budu skusenosti dalej ked sa pozriem aj do terenu... dam im druhu sancu, tak dufam ze to uz bude lepsie a snad aspon do konca tejto sezonny uz defekt nebudem musiet riesit.
