WARNING
For information about installing, adjusting, and replacing the products which are not found in the user's manual, consult the place of purchase or a distributor. A dealer's manual for professional and experienced bicycle mechanics is available on our website (https://si.shimano.com).
For safety, be sure to read this "user's manual" thoroughly before use, follow it for correct use, and save it so that you can refer back to it at any time.
The following instructions should always be followed in order to prevent personal injury, physical damage to equipment or damage to the surroundings. The instructions are classified according to the degree of danger or damage which may occur if the product is used incorrectly.
DANGER – Failure to follow the instructions will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING – Failure to follow the instructions could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION – Failure to follow the instructions could result in personal injury, or physical damage to equipment or surroundings.

WARNING
- Before riding the bicycle, check that the wheels are securely fastened. Incorrect use of the axle release lever / quick release lever may cause the wheel to come off, etc., and there is the danger of a serious accident occurring as a result.
- Before use, tires should be inflated to the pressure indicated on the tires or rims. If a maximum pressure is indicated on the tires or rims, do not exceed the lower indicated value.
WH-M9000-TL: Maximum pressure = 2.8 bar / 41 psi / 280 kPa
WH-M9020-TL: Maximum pressure = 2.6 bar / 38 psi / 260 kPa
WH-M8000-TL: Maximum pressure = 3 bar / 44 psi / 300 kPa
WH-M8020-TL: Maximum pressure = 3 bar / 44 psi / 300 kPa
WH-M8100-TL: Maximum pressure = 3 bar / 44 psi / 300 kPa
Shimano XT M8120: Maximum pressure = 2.5 bar / 36 psi / 250 kPa
- Higher than the specified pressure may cause the tire to burst suddenly and/or the tire to come off suddenly, resulting in severe injury.
- Before riding the bicycle, carefully check the wheels and make sure that there are no cracks in the axles; if you find any signs of cracking or other unusual conditions, do NOT ride the bicycle. This wheel was not designed for downhill bicycle riding or for freeriding. Depending on riding conditions, the wheel axle may crack. This could lead to failure of the wheel axle, which could lead to an accident that could result in serious injury or even death.
- Before riding the bicycle, check the wheels to be sure that the spokes are not bent or loose, and that there are no scores, scratches or cracks on the rim surface. If you notice any of these problems, do not use the wheel. The wheel may break and you may fall. Check that there is no separation or cracking in the carbon.
- Do not use with rim brakes. These wheels are designed exclusively for use with disc brakes. They are not compatible with rim brakes.
- After carefully reading the user's manual, store it in a safe place for later reference.
E-THRU hub axle type wheel
- Check that the axle release lever does not interfere with the disc brake rotor even after the axle release lever has been securely tightened. If the axle release lever is on the same side as the disc brake rotor, there is the danger that they will interfere with each other. If it interferes with the disc brake rotor, stop using it and consult the place of purchase or a distributor.
- Check how to use the axle release lever. If the axle release lever is not used correctly, the wheel may come off the bicycle, and serious injury may result.
F15 E-THRU hub axle type wheel
- This wheel can be used in combination with a special front fork and E-THRU. If it is used in combination with any other front fork or hub axle, the wheel may become detached from the bicycle during riding, resulting in serious personal injury.
- When installing the front wheel to the front suspension fork, always follow the instructions in the service manual for the front suspension fork. The securing method as well as the tightening torque of the front wheel differ depending on the type of front suspension fork used. If you do not follow the instructions, the front wheel may come off of the front suspension fork, and serious injury may result.
Quick release type wheel
- Check that the quick release lever does not interfere with the disc brake rotor even after the quick release lever has been tightened to the maximum extent by hand. If the quick release lever is on the same side as the disc brake rotor, there is the danger that it will interfere with the disc brake rotor. If it interferes with the disc brake rotor, stop using it and consult the place of purchase or a distributor.

CAUTION
- Before use, tires should be inflated to the pressure indicated on the tires.
- If using a puncture repair agent, consult the dealer or agency.
„ Break-in period
- Disc brakes have a break-in period, and the braking force gradually increases as the break-in period continues. Be sure to avoid any such increases in braking force during use of the brakes during the break-in period. The same thing happens when the brake pads or rotor are replaced.
