The carbon rim is made with an emphasis on low weight while maintaining the necessary stiffness. In this way, not only the feeling of lightness is achieved, but above all the first-class reactivity of the wheel during climbs or changes in pace. The rim has an outer width of 27 mm, a height of 30 mm and implements a 3K nano tubes braking surface for better heat dissipation and higher braking efficiency similar to galus models. However, this mountaineering version of the tire wheels has an improved rim for up to 7x faster cooling and is therefore suitable for use in high mountains as well.
Radial straightpull stringing is used on the front wheel - DT Swiss Aerolite or SAPI CX Ray wires. The nipples used are DT Swiss Pre Lock Squorx made of brass, which will ensure longer string stability and durability of the wheels. On the rear wheel, straightpull wiring is used with a wire ratio of 2:1 (16 spokes at the cassette, 8 on the opposite side). Thanks to this, the rear wheel is very well balanced and the rim is stressed equally on both sides. The hubs in this version are manufactured by DT Swiss exclusively for FFWD, while the rest of the hub is completely standard and offers the benefits of the famous DT Swiss hub variability.
