Pirelli Scorpion™ E-MTB S 27.5x2.6" HyperWALL TLR tire, kevlar
Pirelli Scorpion E-MTB is a model range of tires with 3 different tread patterns for all types of terrain and surfaces, from M (Mixed) and R (rear wheel tire) for days on perfect clay, to model S (Soft). surface) for more aggressive Enduro trials and steep terrain. All tires are directly designed to form a comprehensive range of tires that meet the needs and requirements of E-MTB. They are equipped with the innovative and patented HyperWALL ™ design, which is Pirelli's own motocross technology adapted for use on electric bicycles and enables the necessary riding quality and reliability (especially for Tubeless tubeless use with low air pressures). The new SmartGRIP + rubber compound used contains the patented "Lignin" material (a completely naturally occurring material during the papermaking process) and allows it to withstand greater loads and withstand the greater torsional forces that E-MTB use brings. The Scorpion E-MTB provides better performance and longer life for E-MTB riding.
ULTRA DURABLE TIRES FOR AGGRESSIVE DRIVING STYLE
Tread pattern with high block profile and large distance between them for maximum grip on any soft and loose surface, dry or in mud, and with properties specific to the E-MTB SmartGRIP + rubber compound. This tire is the best choice for demanding trails. In addition, a completely new standard of rubber life and braid reliability thanks to the HyperWALL ™ design.

TECHNOLOGIES
HyperWALL
The innovative technology that Pirelli has brought to the world of cycling thanks to its experience and background in motorsport: the newly designed construction of the heel and sidewall of the tire, which further improves its properties - maneuverability using low air pressures and resistance to cutting. Key features for field use, especially in the most demanding disciplines such as gravity and eMTB, are tire heel integrity and sidewall stability. The tread with a pattern of sophisticated rubber compound relies heavily on its behavior, it depends on the stability and integrity of the heel and sidewall. Pirelli has introduced a design in which the heel and the rubber side insert are firmly held together by a woven material clutch so that they behave as one piece, not two separate components with the possibility of movement relative to each other, which is a common standard in tire construction. Advantages of this technology in numbers (based on Pirelli's internal laboratory and practical tests): improved heel stability (+ 10%), better cut protection (+ 50%), better controllability when using low air pressures (+ 25%), greater durability against cutting the sides.
SmartGRIP +
Pirelli rubber compound specifically designed for E-MTB with the addition of lignin, a chemical component obtained from natural sources in the pulp production process. Not only is it a gentle additive, but it also significantly enriches the mechanical properties of rubber - it allows maximum tensile strength when rubber samples are stretched by up to 10% in the laboratory. The result is a better tear resistance of the tire, which is needed to withstand the greater overload and braking torque of modern high-performance electric bicycles. Other characteristics of the composition of the SmartGRIP rubber compound, ie its chemical adhesion, have not been changed. The result is a version of the SmartGRIP rubber compound that still allows for perfect dry or wet grip, as well as more durable rubber: riders will appreciate the consistent performance of the tire throughout its life, even under the heavier loads of material that electric biking entails. The developers at Pirelli were able to design the tire for more fun on the electric bike - for easier rough terrain, faster driving and better overall handling.

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
