Advice from MICHELIN MAN (Bibendum):
To achieve optimum performance and driving characteristics, MICHELIN MAN recommends using GUM-X compound at the rear and MAGI-X compound at the front. GUM-X is also suitable as a universal mixture.
MICHELIN Advanced technology
Technology that changes everything:
Tires with "Advanced" technology achieve the best performance thanks to a special tread pattern, rubber compound (GUM-X or MAGI-X) and the type of its internal construction (Reinforced technology).
MICHELIN MAGI-X series
The MICHELIN MAGI-X series is a state-of-the-art rubber compound for Michelin mountain bikes designed for enduro use. The mixture was developed and is used in the "Enduro World Series".
This compound provides high efficiency and exceptional grip (holding) when tilting, but also excellent braking properties even in the most demanding conditions.
The Michelin MAGI-X series is designed mainly for use on the front wheel.
Bibendum says: for best control and overall safety, I recommend using MAGI-X series tires on the front wheel and GUM-X series tires on the rear wheel.
MICHELIN GUM-X series
The MICHELIN GUM-X series is the latest generation of rubber compound designed for Wild Advanced tires for mountain bikes.
Michelin's experience in the production of rubber compounds has made it possible to mix this compound, which provides bikers with an excellent balance between grip, efficiency and wear.
MICHELIN Reinforced technology
for an even stronger internal construction
By adding an additional protective layer across the entire width of the casing, MICHEL IN Reinforced technology can improve the resistance of the internal structure to external damage to the sides and also reduces the risk of a defect due to impact or click.
This technology is designed especially for enduro use.
MICHELIN TS
Flexible and lightweight aramid heels.
MICHELIN uses two types of heels for bicycle tires: flexible heels (TS) and fixed heels (TR).
flexible heels invented and developed by MICHELIN are made only of aramid fibers, which are used e.g. in bulletproof vests.
This textile fabric has a very high resistance to stretching and at the same time is very light.
Thanks to these properties, the aramid heels are very light and very strong, which allows you to reduce the total weight of the tire by 40 to 70 grams.
All performance models of MICHELIN tires for mountain and road bikes are equipped with flexible heels.
Tubeless | Yes |
Material | kevlar |
product ID | 80096 |
PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
