Maxxis Assegai 29x2.50" WT DH/Bikepark tire

Even Greg Minnaar, a three-time world champion, three-time overall World Cup winner and legend of the sport, collaborated on the development of the tread pattern. "My idea was to design a tire that reflected the iconic Maxxis tread patterns," says Greg Minnaar. "I started in the middle of the sample in a combination of Minion DHF and Minion DHR II. The reason was that the DHF rolls well and gives confidence on hard ground, corners, wet roots and rocks. The DHR II added speed and aggressiveness when braking. Later, we added extra teeth to get better wheel response under load and a consistent feel all the way to the side knobs. I can't even forget my favorite coat - High Roller. Together with the experts at Maxxis, we created redesigned side lugs that have very similar characteristics to the original, but with new support they are also excellent for cutting corners on flat ground. Finally, I took the tread height from the Shorty. "Since the lugs are well supported, the additional height can bite into the ground in dry and dusty conditions."
