Stable signal - does not stress
As soon as the search engine catches the signal, it directs you exactly to the buried one, eliminating the stress of signal loss and the possibility of getting lost in an avalanche.

Your rescue will be easier:
Patented SMART ANTENNA technology – automatic selection of the most suitable antenna for the maximum range of the broadcast signal and its amplification after the avalanche stops thanks to the motion sensor.
If you are searching and another avalanche falls, which also covers you, the search engine will automatically switch back to broadcast mode, even from Standby mode.

RECCO reflector - for localization by mountain service.
Self test - the device is constantly testing itself and in case of interference, it will notify you, or it will automatically switch to another antenna.

It does not mind the cold or frequent and demanding use
The ORTOVOX DIRECT VOICE avalanche finder was developed in cooperation with the Tyrolean Center for Avalanche Prevention with an emphasis on durability for frequent and demanding use by mountain guides and rescuers. The viewfinder tolerates long-term cold temperatures of -20 °C. Its strong rubberized cover withstands impacts and moisture and does not slip even in gloves. The battery lasts for 250 hours of broadcasting.

A simple and intuitive avalanche finder
ORTOVOX DIRECT VOICE has only one button, but it does the rest of the work for you. The display on the large display is comprehensible and, together with voice commands, speeds up your reactions and gives you peace of mind. During a detailed search, you are navigated by an intuitive sound with a changing intensity of beeps, thus simplifying the entire search process.

SMART ANTENNA – it does not matter in which position it is buried
In order to be found quickly when buried, it is important to have a finder with the best possible range of the transmitted signal, which is, however, affected by the position of the device. The device perceives its position relative to the center of the earth with a sensor and always knows whether it is buried in a vertical or horizontal position. Thanks to this information, the ORTOVOX DIRECT VOICE avalanche finder selects the most suitable antenna for transmission and eliminates the vertical position of the buried, which otherwise complicates the rescue and reduces the range to less than half.

The signal transmitted by the most suitable antenna increases the stability of the indicated direction and distance. Thanks to the patented SMART ANTENNA function, they will find you faster and easier.
After the avalanche stops, it also doubles the signal strength so that it is again more visible to rescuers, thanks to the motion sensor.
RECCO – emergency signal
RECCO is today the equipment of mountain rescuers in European countries and around the world. The RECCO reflector is inserted in the case, so even if the device is lost, it maintains your chance of finding it.
  • range up to 200 m under good conditions
  • the possibility of searching in flight from a helicopter
  • the wanted person can be found, even if the device does not transmit - its batteries are dead, it is turned off, or it has other damage
Your safety always comes first
An avalanche beacon is a piece of safety equipment, and your life depends on its reliability. ORTOVOX search engines have three functions that guarantee reliability:

Self test - the search engine checks its functions at regular 3-minute intervals - broadcasting, searching, all sensors, batteries, and when it detects an error, it immediately signals it on the display and announces it with a sound signal.
Smart Transmitting – when the device detects that it is disturbed by a mobile phone or other object, it starts transmitting with another antenna that is not disturbed and signals the problem.
If you forget to turn off the device after a hike, after 30 minutes in the same position, it will begin to announce with a sound that you forgot to turn it off.

STANDBY mode
Everyone in group search training has experienced that too many beeping devices can distract you and distract you from accurate work with the search engine or probe. However, in no case should you turn off your device, because there is always a risk of a secondary avalanche. That's why ORTOVOX incorporated a Standby mode into the device, which will allow those who are not searching to make their device invisible to others, but in the event of a second avalanche, the device will automatically switch to broadcasting.

Insurance in case of a second avalanche - AUTOMATIC BACKUP
If an avalanche falls and you switch to search mode or Standby mode, and then a second avalanche falls that also buries you, the ORTOVOX avalanche finder will automatically switch to signal transmission mode after two minutes without movement so that the rest of the group can locate and rescue you as well. ORTOVOX DIRECT VOICE has a built-in motion sensor that automatically evaluates that you are lying motionless under an avalanche.

You will also find more buried ones
The ORTOVOX DIRECT VOICE avalanche seeker has excellent signal analysis and accurately identifies and differentiates all signals within range. The display shows more buried people in range (a graphic symbol of a person on the display), up to 4, so that you know that more people need to be saved. Based on this information, you can choose the right rescue tactics.

The device always guides you to the strongest signal, i.e. to the nearest buried one. As soon as you want to start looking for other buried ones, just hold down the "Mark" button nearby, the box with the graphic symbol of a person will change to a flag and a sound signal will inform you that the beeper is starting to lead to the next buried one. In these cases, the search for multiple burials is greatly simplified and you can locate an essentially unlimited number of burials.

Durable battery
The uniquely designed electronics of ORTOVOX avalanche devices can reduce electricity consumption. The large-capacity battery lasts for 250 hours of broadcasting and you simply charge it using the included USB cable. The accumulator is ecological and there is also no risk of battery leakage and deterioration of the device.

Software update using the ORTOVOX APP (Apple iOS, Android)
For a long life of the avalanche search engine and proper function, you can choose the UPDATE function, which updates the software and at the same time improves the device with new functions. It also supports changing the settings of the search engine, its personalization, fleet management or practical tutorial videos.
  • QUICK LOCK locking system with a wider strap.
  • Tip wider than probe parts.
  • Tapered ramps for quick assembly.
  • 1 m depth marking.
  • Colored warning sign of the vicinity of the buried.
  • Marking the depth after 5 cm.
  • Weight 235 g.
  • Intelligent depth marking
  • Marking the depth of 1 m decides for you which direction to dig from and saves so many precious minutes during the rescue:
Folding the probe in one quick movement
The QUICK LOCK locking system allows you to quickly assemble the probe with one movement and also to tighten the probe using the thread. You can fold the probe in one continuous movement directly when taking it out of the package - just pull the wide loop of the probe and then secure the Aramid cable at the top of the probe. The conical approaches will help you assemble the probe easily and without snagging. When folding, you just need to easily release the Quick lock system. Controlling the probe is easy, even if you are wearing gloves.

You can rely on the probe even in hard snow
The diameter of the probe is 11 mm and provides sufficient rigidity.
Aramid rope is strong, light and 6 times more durable than steel.
The probe material is duralumin alloy 7075 Alu T6, which is used in the aviation industry and is characterized by high strength.
The steel conical tip is wider than the diameter of the probe, thanks to which friction and freezing of the probe against the walls of the puncture is eliminated, which makes it easier to penetrate the snow with the probe.
Sufficiently long but compact avalanche probe
The probe length of 240 cm is sufficient even for large deposits in the avalanche zone
7 parts 37.5 cm long, you can also pack them in a small racing backpack.
The new Quick Lock system is simple and resistant to damage.

AVALANCHE SHOVEL ORTOVOX FOR LIGHT
One of the lightest avalanche shovels in the world. For those who do not underestimate the risk of avalanches, but want to save every gram.

The ORTOVOX SHOVEL PRE LIGHT shovel is one of the lightest avalanche shovels in the world. High strength and low weight was achieved thanks to the special aluminum alloy and the shape of the shovel. The sheet size of 2.1 l will help you at the same time when digging a bivouac and rescue. The rectangular handle is more comfortable to hold and does not twist in the hand. When assembling the shovel, thanks to the run-in on the handle, you snap the handle sheet without pressing the safety.

The main functional elements of the ORTOVOX SHOVEL PRE LIGHT avalanche shovel:
  • telescopic handle,
  • sharp profiled edge,
  • handle for left-handed and right-handed,
  • profiled blade and handle,
  • openings for the construction of transport sleds,
  • small to pack,
  • compatible with PRO ALU III shovel handle,
  • profiled upper edge of the sheet against slipping of shoes.
You can easily break through an ice crust
When digging in powdery snow, the volume of the shovel is important. But in the process of digging in hard snow, as avalanche deposits usually are, the durability of the shovel also matters. The blade of the ORTOVOX SHOVEL PRE LIGHT shovel is made of anodized hardened aluminum AL 6061 T6 (the strongest aluminum on the market), which guarantees durability and a long service life.
  • Profiles of the blade and handle increase resistance when prying and digging.
  • The high side edges of the blade add strength and increase digging efficiency.
  • The sharp, solid and shaped edge enables easy penetration into frozen snow.
  • The edge of the blade is profiled, which reduces the contact area with the snow and makes it easier to break through hard snow.
  • Comfortable handle for right-handed and left-handed users
  • The handle of the shovel can be rotated and the grip is comfortable for both right-handed and left-handed users.
  • The handle will hold comfortably in mittens and finger gloves.
  • The handle is oval and will not twist in your hand.
Light shovel, efficient digging
The time you spend digging in an avalanche is usually many times longer than searching with an avalanche finder. By using the ORTOVOX SHOVEL PRE LIGHT shovel, you can shorten this time a bit:
  • The deep shovel blade with high walls allows for a lot of snow to be scooped up with each sweep.
  • The anti-slip rubberized zone ensures a firm grip, the handle does not twist and does not damage the gloves.
  • Long telescopic handle with ergonomic handle. Easy to pack in a backpack.
  • The handle made of hardened aluminum AL 7075 T6 does not disappoint even when prying in hard snow.
  • The possibility of assembling a makeshift sled for rescue
  • Rescue often does not end only with digging out and treating the injured, but only after transport to the hospital. If you are going to remote places, it is possible that the transport by mountain service will not be available. In bad weather, rescuing the injured becomes very complicated and a helicopter cannot be used for rescue. In such cases, you will greatly appreciate the possibility of building a transport sled from a shovel and skis. There are four holes in the blade of the shovel, with which you can connect the tips of the skis with the help of prussians, and with the handle you can connect the skis when binding.
