Climbing Technology Click up Plus belay set, lobster
CLICK UP+ is a semi-automatic belay device, an evolution of the proven CLICK UP model, which has been on the market for seven years. It is designed specifically for indoor and sport climbing and can be used with all dynamic single ropes from 8.5mm to 11mm in diameter. CLICK UP+ is light, compact and allows belaying of both first and second climbers on the top-rope, both hands working with the rope.
Parameters, certification and legislation
- For use with a single dynamic rope with a diameter of 8.5 mm to 11 mm.
- The body of the isolator is hot-forged from light alloy
- Weight of a separate cooler: 110 g
- PATENTED
It is supplied and must be used together with the specific HMS carabiner CONCEPT SGL HC - Meets EN 15151-2:2012 type 2
- UIAA
- Quality control 100%
- Made in Italy
Why the new CLICK UP+ is really a PLUS compared to the previous CLICK UP version
- Thanks to the new geometry of the arrester body and the storage of the carabiner, the feeding of the rope is now easier and smoother - PATENTED shape.
- Easier to use when belaying on the top rope, thanks to the new geometry of the side panels.
- Now even safer - the PATENTED V-Proof System, reduces the possibility of mistakes due to bad handling of the rope during braking.
- New ergonomic shape.
Properties that CLICK UP+ inherited from its predecessor CLICK UP
- CLICK UP is a semi-automatic safety device that works without the need to operate any lever or moving parts.
- The rope in the belay is immediately automatically blocked by the HMS carabiner at the moment the climber falls. This allows the belayer to catch the fall easily - it is only necessary to have the free end of the rope under control. At this moment, the HMS carabiner "CLICK-ne" into the self-locking position.
- It allows the belay to easily lower the co-climber to the ground - just apply moderate pressure from the top of the belay while keeping the free end of the rope under control.
- In the event that you need to belay again after a first climber has fallen or dismounted, you simply unlock the belay by moving it "UP" away from you, returning the carabiner to the basic belay position. (The rope must not be loaded at this moment).
- If it happens that the first climber pulls hard on the rope to take it up enough to be able to click it into the expressway, it may happen that the braking HMS carabiner "CLICK-ne" into the self-locking position. In this case, you simply push CLICK UP away from you with one hand and the HMS carabiner will return to the non-braking position and the climber can continue picking up the rope. Of course, even during this operation, the climber is safely secured.
- CLICK UP is the only belay on the market that catches the fall of the climber even if the rope is inserted the other way around! In this case, CLICK UP does not work as a semi-automatic safety device, but as a classic safety bucket thanks to the V-shaped grooves to increase the braking effect.
V-proof system
In belaying, some processes are critical (such as retrieving and handing the rope to a first-climber or retrieving the rope during a top-rope) and in the event of a fall require the maintenance of a V-shaped angle between the two sides of the rope. Decreasing the value of this angle may affect the correct function of the arrester when blocking the rope.
The V-Proof System, which CLICK UP+ is equipped with, reduces the possibility of an error caused by an incorrect reduction of the V angle between two rope strands.
It consists of a movable partition that facilitates the activation of the assisted braking system. If the hand side of the rope comes into contact with the partition when the climber falls, this pressure will contribute to the rotation of the device and subsequent blocking on the rope.
To be used exclusively with the HMS carabiner CONCEPT SGL HC
The CLICK UP+ is supplied and must be used together with the specific HMS carabiner CONCEPT SGL HC with wear-resistant anodizing and the ACL system (steel spring preventing the carabiner from turning over), which prevents the possibility of the carabiner turning and possible overloading of its secondary axis.
Features of the carabiner:
- Prominent double T profile for excellent weight/strength ratio.
- Lightened and shaped for a better grip.
- The nose of the carabiner does not have a beak so that it does not catch when it is clicked in and out.
- The ACL system - a steel spring that allows the carabiner to be attached to the securing eye of the seat, which fixes its position and thus prevents cross-overloading of the carabiner.
Carabiner parameters:
- Longitudinal load capacity (main axis): 23 kN
- Lateral load capacity (secondary axis): 10 kN
- Longitudinal load capacity when the lock is open: 7 kN
- Weight: 77 g
- Size: 105x73 mm
- Lock clearance: 21 mm
- ACL
Carbine certification and legislation:
- EN 12275:2013-H
- EN 362:2004-A/T
- CE 0333
- UIAA
- Individually tested 100%
